She’s 30 and She’s Fabulous: Hyperspace Mountain Gets a Dazzling Upgrade
Some rides age quietly. Hyperspace Mountain said: ‘Not me, babes.‘
In honour of her 30th anniversary at Disneyland Paris, our iconic Space Cannon Queen is getting the full star treatment — with a brand-new exterior light display that’s already looking ✨chef’s kiss✨.

The update has been in the works for nearly two years (yes, they’ve been tinkering away while we weren’t looking – isn’t that the best?), and it includes:
💡 More than 640 lights — because this icon said ‘I want to be seen from orbit.‘
🏗️ Fresh roof paint and new technical access points — think of it as a spa day with a few discreet upgrades (no judgement, we’ve all considered filler).
🌌 Epic new light effects that sparkle every time a vehicle launches — so yes, you’re now basically being yeeted into hyperspace by the Force itself.
And get this: the original lighting designer from the 1995 opening has returned for this next-gen refresh. It’s giving full-circle. It’s giving legacy. It’s giving emotional but make it dramatic lighting.

But Wait, There’s Hyperspace Mountain Merch! (Because of Course There Is)
As if that weren’t exciting enough, Disneyland Paris has dropped some limited edition anniversary merch, and honestly?
My credit card is already hiding under the sofa.
🗝️ A collectible key with that gorgeous retro-futuristic Space Mountain flair
🔭 A stunning mini model of the Columbiad cannon that looks like it was stolen straight from Jules Verne’s desk (and absolutely does not belong next to the pile of receipts and post-it notes on mine… but here we are)
You can find the new items at Constellations and Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building, but don’t wait too long. These are the kind of collector’s pieces that tend to disappear into hyperspace (or eBay) very quickly.

Over to You: Team Star Wars or Team Jules Verne?
Of course, no Hyperspace Mountain update would be complete without a little friendly debate.
Are you more into the sleek Star Wars overlay with its galactic drama and pew-pew sound effects? Or are you still daydreaming about a return to the dreamy steampunk vibes of the original De la Terre à la Lune?
Whichever side you’re on, one thing’s for sure: she’s never looked better.
And also let me know in the comments:
Would you put the cannon model on display? Or do you (like me) lack both self-control and shelf space?
Here’s to 30 years of loops, launches, and loving that Star Wars theme pre-launch music cue like our lives depend on it. 💙💥
