Ah, the magic number where things get serious! If your child has hit this milestone, they’re ready for some of Disneyland Paris’s most iconic adventures. Think faster, steeper, and a little more adrenaline. My personal fave? Big Thunder Mountain — it’s the wildest ride in the wilderness, after all! Pro Tip: Try it in the day and in the dark. Both are incredible experiences.

For the kids (and adults) who are ready to take their thrill levels up a notch, this ride packs a punch. Think spinning, drops, and Crush zooming through the EAC! Crush’s Coaster is a must-ride for me — just hold on tight to your shell!

Height Requirement: 1.20m (47 inches)
At 1.20m, you’re officially entering the big leagues. These rides are perfect for older kids, teens, and grown-ups who love a good thrill. I recommend starting with Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain — it’s fast, it’s dark, and it’s very Star Wars-y. What’s not to love?

Height Requirement: 1.40m (55 inches)
This is the ultimate height tier and home to the most intense rides. This attraction is perfect for teens and adults who want full-on roller coaster action (and don’t mind a bit of whiplash dare I say..). Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is a heart-pounding, upside-down adventure you won’t forget.

- How Strict Are They? Disneyland Paris takes safety very seriously. Height restrictions are strictly enforced, and Cast Members will measure children at the entrance to rides. If your child doesn’t meet the requirement, they won’t be allowed on the ride — no exceptions. So, be sure to measure your child at home before your trip to avoid disappointment.
- How to Handle Disappointment If your child is close to a height milestone but doesn’t quite make it, try to plan something fun for them to do while other family members ride. Many of the rides with height restrictions have nearby attractions with no restrictions, so you can split up and meet back easily.
- Bring the Right Shoes While it’s tempting to add a few extra centimetres with thick-soled shoes, remember that safety is the top priority. Proper shoe fit ensures your child is secure in their seat (of course you don’t want them falling out!).
- Rider Switch If you’re travelling with kids of different ages or heights, take advantage of the Rider Switch service. One parent can ride while the other stays with the non-riding child, then switch without waiting in line again.
- Plan Ahead Check height restrictions before your trip and plan your itinerary around them. This will save you time and help manage expectations. TIP: Print out a copy of the attraction checklist in my Disneyland Paris Itinerary Guide (or save it on your phone) to refer to in the parks.
