⭐ 103 Best Tips for Disneyland Paris (You Really Need to Know Before You Go)

If you’ve fallen down a planning rabbit hole and emerged feeling slightly overwhelmed, slightly excited, and slightly like you now need a list of all your lists… welcome. You’re in the right place.

I’ve visited Disneyland Paris in every weather condition, every season, and every mood (including repeats of the ‘I’ve forgotten my poncho again’ saga, which deserves its own syndicated show). Add in three-day-trips, rainy adventures, countless solo wanders with a camera and a Mickey cookie, plus my full-family chaotic/gorgeous trips with my babies right through to their teens, and… well… you learn a lot.

So today, I’m sharing my 103 best tips for Disneyland Paris. (Yes, that’s 103 because I started with 10 and couldn’t stop 😂).

I promise you want to save this one. Screenshot your faves. Forward it to the family group chat with the caption ‘I’ve got this.’ Let it be your planning secret power.

🎒 Planning & Booking Tips (The Stuff That Makes Everything Else Easier)

  1. Book your park tickets early. I’ve seen enough panicked ‘help, it’s sold out!’ posts for a lifetime.
  2. Check Attraction Tickets for money-saving tickets, especially as they often include some pics (10 free printed photos when you get home).
  3. Don’t book flights before you’ve secured tickets. Trust me here.
  4. Staying at a Disney hotel guarantees your entry, even if it’s a ‘sold-out’ day. A lifesaver at really peak times.
  5. Make a must-do list. Three rides, one fun snack, one show. Ground yourself, you don’t need to do everything to have the best time ever.
  6. Check different dates before booking; prices fluctuate wildly.
  7. Mid-week visits are quieter than weekends if you can swing it.
  8. January = dreamy low crowds + arctic temperatures. Bring enthusiasm and thermals.
  9. September weekdays in th early part of the month are one of the best-value times of the year.
  10. Avoid school holidays with toddlers unless you’re craving high blood pressure.
  11. Eurostar tickets get pricier over time, not cheaper. Book as early as they are available.
  12. Flying? Double-check baggage allowances. (Every airline tries something sneaky.)
  13. Offsite hotel packages sometimes include breakfast which feels heroic when you’re trying to save money.
  14. Always check the refurbishment calendar before choosing dates.
  15. Allow yourself ONE fantasy Disneyland Hotel quote. Just for the serotonin.
  16. If eligible, apply for the accessibility pass about a month before you go. It truly helps.
  17. Screenshot everything, especially park tickets and show times.
  18. Download the DLP app before you travel, not while standing at the turnstile.
  19. Add your tickets to the app at home, while your WiFi behaves.
  20. Get good travel insurance. It’s now a legal requirement for France that it includes repatriation.
  21. Use my packing lists (especially for kids!) so nothing essential is left behind.
  22. Book table-service dining 2 months out if you’re not at a Disney hotel (or 3 days for character breakfast).
  23. Consider the meal plan carefully. Sometimes brilliant, sometimes a time-eating luxury.
  24. Print your itinerary. If you love the cosy, pen-to-paper feeling, you’ll like the cute printable itinerary pack I designed (and use!) myself.

🎢 Park Strategy Tips (Because Wandering Is Lovely, But Strategy Is Sublime)

  1. Arrive 30–45 minutes before park opening to feel like you’ve cracked the code of life.
  2. Get your pics on Main Street and at the castle while the crowds race to the rides.
  3. In the main park, rope drop Big Thunder Mountain (or Peter Pan if you have little kids).
  4. If you don’t rope drop Crush’s Coaster at Disney Adventure World, embrace the long queue with snacks and inner peace. Or buy Premier Access (worth it for this ride).
  5. When rides reopen after a technical fault, queues plummet. Watch the app and don’t delay when it comes back up again!
  6. Single Rider is wildly underrated. Try it for yourself if you don’t mind splitting up from your party.
  7. Don’t miss Disney Stars on Parade – people underestimate how joyful it is.
  8. In very early January, you often get the Christmas parade AND lower crowds. Bonus!
  9. Best castle photos = morning light + fewer people.
  10. Wander the caves and walk the scenic paths in Adventureland when you need a break; you’ll feel calmer, genuinely.
  11. When it rains, head to Phantom Manor, Pirates, Stitch Live, or Art of Marvel. I’ve also got a full guide to making the most of rainy days at Disneyland Paris.
  12. Eat lunch at 11.30 and dinner around 5. Avoid the hangry crowds entirely.
  13. Check characters in the app early – some meets fill up quickly and they close the queue early.
  14. Take hotel breaks in the afternoon if your day starts at rope drop and ends at fireworks.
  15. Stand at parade start or end for faster escape routes. And use the covered arcades behind the shops, they’re like secret tunnels not everyone knows about.
  16. Watch the castle nighttime show twice – once by the castle and once on Main Street. Your heart will thank you.
  17. Refill your bottle at the fountains but note that the outdoor ones don’t work in winter.
  18. Bring a portable charger. Filming a 4-second clip of Mickey will consume exactly 69% battery.
  19. Don’t skip smaller shows – they’re often cosy and beautifully done.
  20. Meet Stitch early if he’s out – he attracts chaos and crowds in equal measure.
  21. Keep your PhotoPass within reach, not buried in a bag under six jumpers and a baguette.
  22. Ride Pirates of the Caribbean on hot days for natural cooling.
  23. Avoid eating right before RC Racer, Tower of Terror, or Frozen Ever After. Unless you’ve got a stomach made of steel.

🍽️ Food Tips (Otherwise Known As: Why I Visit Paris)

  1. Eat at least one Mickey-shaped thing. Scientific mood booster.
  2. Read menus carefully before ordering your food. DLP loves a quirky flavour combination.
  3. PYM Kitchen is fun for kids, picky eaters, and anyone who enjoys playful themed food.
  4. Dinner at Plaza Gardens is better than breakfast. The atmosphere feels richer and calmer in the evening.

  8. DLP hot chocolate tastes like a warm hug. Have at least 3.
  9. On a budget? Share quick-service meals – portions often surprise people. More money saving food tips are here.
  10. You can ask for tap water when you order your food (‘une carafe d’eau’).
  11. Try a character meal at least once. Your inner child deserves it.

  16. And book Lumière for a special occasion if you can. It’s unforgettable.

🎀 Outfit, Packing & Weather Tips (Where Practicality Meets ‘Looks great on the ‘Gram’)

  1. Layers, layers, layers. Even in July.
  2. Winter at DLP is cold – pack thermal socks.
  3. Choose sunscreen you actually like so you’ll actually use it.
  4. Wear comfortable shoes – cute pain is not the vibe.
  5. Pack blister plasters before disaster strikes.
  6. Plan outfits ahead of time (because last-minute panic buying is not fun or cheap).
  7. If it’s going to be cold, bring one nice coat for your Parisian main-character moment. The rest of your clothes do not need to be photogenic because you’ll never see them.
  8. Overshoe protectors protect beloved trainers from rainy heartbreak.
  9. Minnie ears = instant outfit elevation.
  10. Use compression packing cubes or even extra large ziplocs (great for kids) to organise outfits.
  11. Wear waterproof mascara for unexpected drizzle days (or if you tend to get teary at the fireworks).
  12. Brush/comb is essential in windy seasons.
  13. Gloves in winter are essential. Hand warmers change your entire worldview.
  14. Foldable tote bag = souvenir overflow miracle. They charge for bags at the till.
  15. It is normal to rewear outfits and mouse ears. No one is keeping score.

💶 Money-Saving Tips (The Ones That Make You Feel Like a Disney Finance Wizard)

  1. Use SkipTax for purchases totalling over €100.
  2. Bring your own water bottle and snacks.
  3. Stay offsite if Extra Magic Time isn’t a priority.
  4. Two-night Disney hotel packages often save money overall.
  5. Travel in value season for dramatically cheaper tickets.
  6. Buy souvenirs at the end of the trip, not in your first wave of serotonin.
  7. Give kids a spending limit to avoid meltdown maths later.
  8. The 10 printed photos included with Attraction Tickets is a lovely perk.
  9. Decide on a Loungefly limit in advance. I mean it.
  10. Buy ponchos at home, not at Disney prices.
  11. Quick-service meals are excellent and kinder to budgets. Use mobile order in the Disneyland Paris app to avoid queue chaos.
  12. There’s a McDonalds in Disney Village. Just sayin’. 👀

❤️ Tips for Disneyland Paris Characters & Shows (Mickey Without the Mayhem)

  1. Get on the Virtual Queue early – they run out of spots in nanoseconds.
  2. Autograph books ready in advance = more interaction time and less sweaty pictures.
  3. Characters adore themed outfits. You have a much better chance for a cute interaction if you wear their face.
  4. Record video AND take photos – you’ll treasure both. Especially if you have kids. That audio lasts forever. 🥹
  5. For parade shade, stand near the Liberty Arcade exit.
  6. Winter shows are delightful and toasty warm.
  7. Hotel meets are aaaaaamazing if you’re staying onsite.
  8. If Goofy is roaming in front of Disney Adventure World, run towards him. Pure comedy. Pure joy.

🌧️ Rain Tips (Because… Well, France)

  1. Rain = shorter queues.
  2. Flash shower and no poncho? Find them in the train station or most Disney gift shops if you need a quick emergency fix.
  3. Accept the soggy-hair aesthetic. You’ve earned it.

Final Tip #103. Brush up on my rainy-day guide. Rain happens at the most inopportune times. But these tips will definitely turn your trip from soggy disappointment to dancing in the (Disney) rain.
