Disneyland Paris PhotoPass: How It Works (& Is It Worth It?)
I know that feeling all too well—scrolling through Facebook and seeing those Disneyland Paris PhotoPass pictures. You know the ones — every family member grinning with Mickey and the ride photo of the exact moment where Mum is questioning her life choices. In other words – the whole thing looks just as magical as it felt.

Meanwhile, my best shot? A slightly wonky selfie where I seem to have acquired three chins, a character meet where I swear my kid’s eyes were open, and a family picture taken by a kind stranger where all our feet are cropped out (but the trash can is in perfect focus).
It’s no secret that those picture-perfect shots come from the Disneyland Paris PhotoPass. But how does it actually work? Is it worth the money, or just another way to drain your snack budget? And where exactly do you find these camera-wielding wizards? Let’s get into it!
What is Disneyland Paris PhotoPass? / What’s the Difference Between PhotoPass and PhotoPass+?
Disneyland Paris PhotoPass and PhotoPass+ aren’t quite the same thing (though they can work together!).
📸 PhotoPass is for physical photos
💾 PhotoPass+ is for downloadable photos

How Much Does Disneyland Paris PhotoPass Picture Cost? / How Do you Buy a PhotoPass+?
There are a few options on how to buy a Disneyland Paris PhotoPass picture or PhotoPass+ package depending on what you choose. Here’s the breakdown:
💾 PhotoPass+ (Unlimited Digital Photos)
Pricing
- €85 for unlimited digital downloads of all your Disneyland Paris PhotoPass pictures.
- (OR €17 for the first digital photo if you just want to download a single image. Then, it’s €10 for each additional photo bought at the same time.)
- Valid for 10 days, so it covers your entire trip if you’re staying for multiple days.
- Photos stay available for one year to download anytime.
- ✂️ BUDGET TIP: You can share a PhotoPass+ card so you only have to buy one pass for your trip to cover all family and friends.
How to Purchase
- You can buy PhotoPass+ in advance with a Disneyland Paris hotel package. I recommend Attraction Tickets because their package comes with 10 free printed photos of your choice for free. (You’ll get an email at the end of your trip on how to get the photos mailed to you). Perfect for combining with the Disney PhotoPass+ package!
- If you buy it in advance, you will collect a voucher from your Disney hotel when you check in. Take that to the PhotoPass+ points in the park to redeem (see below).
- Prefer to buy it in the parks? Collect a PhotoPass+ from the stroller rental or Flora’s in the main park. Or try Guest Services in Walt Disney Studios Park.

📸 Buying Individual Printed Photos from the Photopass Kiosk
You will also be able to purchase printed ride or character photos individually at the time of your experience. The price of individual printed Disney picture is:
- €20 for one printed photo in a themed frame
- €25 for two printed photos in themed frames
- €35 for three printed photos in frames, plus digital copies
- €15 for a single print (no frame, no digital version)
🎢 PRO TIP: How to Get Your Ride Photos
When you exit a ride that offers PhotoPass, here’s how to collect your printed photo or add it to your PhotoPass+ card:
1️⃣ Check the TV screens at the ride exit—you’ll see all the recently captured photos.
2️⃣ Find your picture and take note of the photo number (e.g., 1234).
3️⃣ Head to the ride’s photo kiosk and give the Cast Member your photo number.
4️⃣ Choose your print format, then they’ll print your photo on the spot! OR If you have a PhotoPass+ card, they will scan it to add that photo to your account.
5 Places You Can Use PhotoPass+ at Disneyland Paris
Both individual printed pictures and PhotoPass+ are options at all PhotoPass locations. But you’ll need to know where all the cute photo ops are available to maximise your package!
📸 1. Character Meet-and-Greets
Not every character meet consistently has a Disney photographer, but the ones that almost always do include:
- Mickey Mouse at Meet Mickey Mouse
- The Princess Pavilion
- Seasonal characters at Beta Theatre like Minnie Mouse, Santa Claus and Halloween Stitch
- Characters near Main Street like traditional Stitch and Winnie the Pooh
- Superheroes at Marvel Avengers Campus
- Woody or Jessie in Walt Disney Studios Park
- Annual Passholder Pop-Up Events with surprise characters
Other characters that sometimes have photographers on busier days include:
- Jafar or Genie in Adventureland
- Fantasyland characters like Queen of Hearts, Alice in Wonderland or Brer Rabbit
- Chip and Dale in Frontierland
- Minnie or Goofy in Western outfits in Frontierland
- Star Wars characters like The Mandalorian or Darth Vader in Discoveryland
- Director Goofy in Walt Disney Studios Park
🎢 2. Ride Photos
As I mentioned above, your on-ride photos will be linked to your PhotoPass+ but only when you scan your card at the ride exit. These are also your opportunities to buy the printed and framed pictures.
Rides that currently offer PhotoPass images include:
- Big Thunder Mountain – Disneyland Park
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast – Disneyland Park
- Hyperspace Mountain – Disneyland Park
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Avengers Flight Force – Walt Disney Studios Park
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Walt Disney Studios Park
🏨 3. Disney Hotel Character Meets
Staying at a Disney hotel? Lucky you! Character meet-and-greets in the lobbies of Disney hotels often have PhotoPass photographers, which means extra character photos without the long park queues. It’s a great chance to get a more relaxed, personal meet-up with some of your favourites—and will appear in your PhotoPass+ account adding even more value.
✏️ PRO TIP Don’t forget there are also exclusive meets for hotel guests you can book while you’re staying at Disneyland Hotel (princesses) or Disney Hotel New York: Art of Marvel Hotel (superheroes).

📍4. Disney Photographers in the Parks
You can also find PhotoPass photographers at key park locations (though they’re not as common as at the USA Disney parks). They are often out on busier days, for instance on holidays like Valentine’s Day. Look for the photographer at green umbrella:
- Near Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Around Main Street, U.S.A.
- Sometimes with Magic Shot opportunities seasonally (i.e. Halloween and Christmas): near Plaza Gardens, Frontierland exit, Partners Statue in Walt Disney Studios Park.
? What’s a Magic Shot? Magic Shots are when a Disney photographer adds special effects and characters to your photo afterwards (like Tinker Bell in your hands or Stitch popping up beside you).
👸 5. My Royal Dream
If your little one is getting the full princess treatment at My Royal Dream inside the Disneyland Hotel, there’s usually a PhotoPass photographer on hand to capture the moment! That means you’ll get gorgeous, high-quality photos of the transformation—without having to juggle your phone while adjusting a tiara. And yes, these photos are included with PhotoPass+!
How to See Your Disneyland Paris PhotoPass Pictures

Is Disneyland Paris PhotoPass+ Worth It? Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
✔️ Perfect for solo travellers! I love it because I don’t have to rely on selfies or asking strangers to take my photo.
✔️ Great for families—no more missing parents in photos!
✔️ Better quality than phone photos—Disney photographers use professional cameras.
✔️ Unlimited downloads—so you can keep every shot.
✔️ Ideal if you’re meeting lots of characters—especially for little ones.
❌ Cons:
❌ Not every character meet has a photographer. Some of your favourite characters might not be included.
❌ Ride photos aren’t always great. Dark lighting, other guests in the frame… you might only want one or two (though for some people the photos are so funny it’s worth the price alone!).
❌ You can ask Cast Members or other guests to take photos for free. If budget is a concern, this is a solid alternative.
❌ Not necessary if you’re only doing one day. You might not get enough photos to justify the cost.
💡 Money-Saving Tip: Try Before You Buy!
Not sure if you’ll take enough photos to justify the cost? Ask a PhotoPass photographer for a temporary card. You can collect photos throughout your trip and preview them online. If you love them, you can buy PhotoPass+ at the end of your visit and get all your photos digitally!
🚨 KEY POINT: If you like less than 8 of your photos, it would make more sense to buy individual digital photos for €17 (first photo)/€10 (more photos) than to buy the PhotoPass+ package for €85
Final Thoughts: Should You Buy Disneyland Paris PhotoPass+?
If you love character meets, high-quality park photos, and want stress-free memories, then PhotoPass+ is worth it—especially for families and solo travellers.
But if you’re only interested in a couple of photos, you can just buy individual prints or downloads and skip the full package.
Either way, don’t forget to smile and have fun!
