Why This Parade Lives In My Head Every Winter

Of all the festive bits Disneyland Paris drags down from the loft each November, this is the one I plan my whole park day around. The first time I saw it, it was when Santa appeared that I think my heart burst with nostalgic joy.

It’s got everything: the music, the glittering floats, Mickey and friends in their Christmas best, toy soldiers, gingerbread dancers and, of course, Santa himself bringing up the rear on the very last float. The one downside? You’ll be humming the song for approximately three months afterwards. (Consider yourself warned.)

What’s different for 2026/27

The parade returns on Saturday 7 November 2026, a day earlier than last year’s start, and keeps going all the way to Wednesday 6 January 2027.

Better still, the schedule is far kinder this year. Last November the times hopped between three different pairs of slots, which had people double-checking their phones in every queue. This season it’s 3:55 pm and 5:45 pm almost every day, with just three earlier days to watch out for. And the full December schedule is already out, New Year’s Eve included, so there’s no waiting around for the 31st this time.

Afternoon or evening: what changes?

Same parade, same route, very different mood. The 3:55 pm showing happens in daylight, so you get a clear look at the costumes and the characters’ faces (handy for little ones who like to wave and be waved at).

The 5:45 pm showing is the one I’d pick every time. Once it’s dark, the floats light up, Main Street glows, and with the snow drifting down it all feels a bit like stepping inside a Christmas card.

Best Places To Watch Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade

Main Street, U.S.A.

Classic for a reason. The garlands, the snow and the castle at the far end make this stretch gorgeous. Aim for about halfway down for the best mix of atmosphere and a clear view.

Central Plaza (in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle)

My personal favourite if you want those iconic shots with the floats and the castle behind them. It’s also the first place to fill up, so give yourself that 30–40 minute head start.

Near the Town Square Christmas tree

Perfect if you want that nostalgic ‘Mickey waving’ moment near the tree. You’re also right by the exit, which makes it easier to slip back to your hotel and warm up afterwards. At the evening parade, the lights and falling snow here are a treat.

• Travelling with toddlers or nappers: 3:55 pm from Main Street, so you’re never far from the exit if the mood takes a turn.
• You want the photo: 5:45 pm from Central Plaza, arriving 30–40 minutes early.
• You’d rather avoid the crush: a weekday 3:55 pm showing.
• Staying at a Disney Hotel and want an easy getaway: the Town Square end, so you’re through the gates before the crowd.
• Visiting on 17, 19 or 26 November: the 4:00 pm showing, the latest you’ll get that day.
• Only got one park day: plan everything else around the 5:45 pm parade. It’s the one you’ll remember.
