If money’s genuinely not the deciding factor, this is the one. It sits directly above the entrance to the park — you can leave your room and be strolling down Main Street within minutes, which sounds like a small thing until you’re doing it in your pyjamas at 11pm with nobody else around (yes, I’ve done that, yes, it’s exactly as ridiculous and wonderful as it sounds).
The lobby alone is worth the walk through the doors — an enormous chandelier, a sweeping staircase, and little Disney dioramas tucked around the mezzanine that most people walk straight past without noticing (don’t be most people).
One of the best perks I booked was a private princess meet in a themed room — no panic over virtual queue, no standing in line outdoors. We met one princess, then booked straight into meeting a second soon after. You’d struggle to pull that off inside the park in a whole day.
Good to Know: The hotel lobby is reserved for Disney Hotel guests, which makes for a quieter, calmer atmosphere than you’ll find anywhere inside the parks.
My honest verdict: it’s unashamedly expensive, but for us it was worth it — if you actually make time to enjoy the hotel rather than treating it as somewhere to just crash between park days. #2 Disney Hotel Cheyenne — Best Value Pick For Young Families
Disney Hotel Cheyenne is what I usually recommend to first-timers with kids. It leans hard into Toy Story and Wild West theming — plaid curtained rooms, wagon-wheel details, the works — and it does it full-on, with really cute Jessie, Woody and Bullseye nods, not in a half-hearted ‘we stuck a sticker on it’ way.
Check-in was refreshingly unfussy. Pre-check in on the app, and by the time you arrive it’s basically just collecting your Magic Card. No grand lobby moment like at the Disneyland Hotel — but the Cast Member who helped us was every bit as wonderful.
The shuttle bus is fine, if unglamorous. You wait, it comes, you’re at the parks in about five minutes, and by day three you’ve got your preferred stop memorised like a regular. I also found it quite nice to be able to pop to the onsite Starbucks for an iced matcha (ok AND a cake pop; I really can’t resist those). And, to be totally honest, the walk to the parks is along a beautiful canal.
Bonus: The breakfast buffet at Chuck Wagon Café even had Mickey waffles and fresh orange juice. #winning at life.
Good To Know: We stayed on the first floor with a window facing the main path, and mornings got a bit lively, around seven thirty to nine, with everyone filing past on their way to breakfast or the parks. In summer that meant choosing between a cooler room and a quieter one, since closing the window sorted the noise out completely, but the aircon couldn’t be adjusted any colder. There’s a ceiling fan in the room too, which helps though.
My honest opinion: if you’re asking me personally, it’s gotta be Disney Hotel Cheyenne over Disney Hotel Santa Fe every time — I don’t know why but the cowboy boot lamps and cow-print just make me so happy. My kids would absolutely overrule me and pick Disney Hotel Santa Fe for the Cars theming. Both are the right choice, they’re just for different people, and Disney Hotel Santa Fe tends to be cheaper. I’ve had a much-needed nightcap in the Redwood Lounge on a bitterly cold winter night — that bar’s a welcoming spot even if you’re on your own. On a different trip with our family, we had hot chocolate by the fire with the Christmas tree lit up beside us, which is one of those little memories that sticks with you longer than most of the big ones.
The pool was a bit cold for my liking, if I’m honest, though there is a hot tub — fair warning, it’s more lukewarm than hot across all the top-tier hotels here, so don’t go in expecting steam.

What I can tell you from what I’ve experienced of the hotel: it blends boutique NYC-hotel styling with incredibly artistic Marvel touches (not just IP slapped on top), exclusive superhero meet-and-greets, and both indoor and outdoor pools (though a little chilly). It sits right on Disney Village’s doorstep, making it only a five-minute walk to the parks.
I’ve been to the Skyline Bar and Downtown Restaurant more times than I can count, actually — they’re my favourite spot to eat and drink anywhere on the resort, hotel guest or not.

This is Disneyland Paris’s largest hotel, with a proper New England-mansion feel and views over Lake Disney if you’re lucky with your room. Disney Newport Bay Club is a step up in polish from the value hotels — almost like a little Parisian cousin of Disney’s Yacht Club back in Florida — with a nautical theme carried through right down to Mickey and friends’ sailor outfits at the character meets.
We had a really relaxing couples weekend here; we made good use of the pool and the little sauna, and had the best meet-and-greet with Donald, who absolutely melted my heart (I’d have paid the hotel cost just for that). Dinner was at Cape Cod, the hotel buffet, which was perfectly convenient, if not quite up there with Royal Banquet for me personally.
Two things to know about: One is room location: ours took an extra ten minutes just to walk from our room and out of the hotel, then another ten to the park — twenty minutes total, despite being ‘inside’ the same building. If Cheyenne is the value pick that still feels like a treat, Santa Fe is the one for anyone who wants to keep costs as low as possible without leaving the Disney bubble. New Mexico desert theming, Cars characters everywhere, and a neon-lit entrance that looks brilliant after dark.
One evening, Pluto himself gave me a kiss on the cheek at the character meet by the lobby — the wait was less than half an hour, a lot quicker than you’d get in the parks. And on a night it was lashing down with rain, La Cantina’s hot buffet dinner (their vegan chilli deserves a special mention) hit exactly the spot.
A little hallway noise here too on our stay, though that might come down to which rooms get allocated to young families — there were a fair few of us on our floor.
My honest verdict: Disney Hotel Santa Fe is usually a touch cheaper than Disney Hotel Cheyenne, and if your kids are Cars-obsessed, that theming will win the argument for you. Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch is Disneyland Paris’s self-catering option — you’re talking recently refurbished log cabins with separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, and the resort’s best swimming pool by a distance, plus mini golf, tennis, and a treetop adventure course.
The catch: it’s only accessible by car (or taxi), and there’s no shuttle bus, so it suits drivers far more than anyone relying on public transport.
My honest verdict: if you’re travelling as a bigger family or group, want more space than a standard hotel room, and don’t mind self-catering some meals, this is excellent value — just make sure you’ve got wheels.

Every on-site Disney hotel gets you the same shuttle bus (except the Disneyland Hotel, which is too close to need one) and the same early park access. The real differences come down to pool access, polish, theming, hotel-exclusive characters, and how far you’re walking with tired kids and a pushchair.

On the ones that do run a shuttle, you’re not sharing it with other hotels the way you often do off-site, but you can still be waiting up to fifteen minutes, and it gets busy at peak times.
And a word on those walk times above: they’re typical, not fixed — we’ve had rooms at Disney Newport Bay Club and Disney Hotel Santa Fe that added an extra ten minutes just getting from the door to the lobby. If a short walk matters to you, check if you can pay for a room near reception when you book.

I’ve stayed at the top end and value end, so which is the best Disneyland Paris hotel in terms of value? Let’s be real: The Disneyland Hotel has 5-Stars and puts you literally at the park gates. Disney Hotel Cheyenne puts you on a shuttle bus at 8 am or pushing a pushchair through Disney Village and beyond long after the fireworks have finished.
But I stand by the fact that both are the right choice — they’re just for very different budgets and very different trips.

But whether you should upgrade depends on what your trip is for:
