What Makes Downtown Restaurant Disneyland Paris Irresistibly Popular?

If there’s one thing I love about Disneyland Paris (and believe me, there’s a lot), it’s discovering those special places that make a trip truly memorable. I’m excited to share one of my absolute favourite dining spots: Downtown Restaurant at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. Trust me, if you’re a Marvel fan—or even if you’re just in the mood for some seriously good food—this place is a must-visit.

Let’s talk about all the things that make Downtown Restaurant Disneyland Paris irresistibly popular and the best tips for first-timers:

  • Downtown’s style and restaurant features

Stepping into the Marvel Universe

When you walk into Downtown Restaurant it’s like you’ve been transported to a sleek New York City diner, but with a stylish Disney twist. The whole place is decked out with chic Marvel comic book art.

The restaurant is big enough that you won’t feel crowded, but it’s still got that cosy vibe that makes it perfect for a family meal or a relaxed dinner with your partner or friends.

And let’s be real—whether you’re a die-hard Marvel fan or just someone who loves a good theme, the décor here is fun. Everywhere you look, there’s something to catch your eye, from the colourful art-deco-style artwork to subtle superhero details like Captain America’s shield completely made of chocolate.

A Delicious Adventure: The Menu

Now, onto the important stuff—the food! Downtown Restaurant offers an upscale all-you-care-to-eat buffet that’s got something for everyone. Its mix of New York flavours from Little Italy and Chinatown will have you going back for seconds (or thirds, no judgment here!).

You’ve got your iconic American food like juicy burgers, Mac and Cheese, Meatballs, New York-style pizza and pasta. But there are also Chinese noodles, dim sum, exciting salads, seafood and so much more.

We’ve eaten here three times, and I can’t get enough of the cheesy aubergine (eggplant) parmigiana, truffle gnocchi and steaming vegetable and shrimp dumplings.

And although it’s hard to save room, don’t forget the desserts! There’s a whole station dedicated to sweet treats, including some Marvel-themed goodies that are almost too pretty to eat (but don’t worry, I managed).

The chocolate fondant with a pearl on top filled with raspberry sauce is a standout. And the tiramisu shot glass is my other favourite. My kids love the Groot pudding, Thor hammer and red velvet cake. Truly everything was delicious from the key lime cheesecake to the fudgy chocolate brownies!

It’s the kind of place where even the pickiest eaters will find something to love. And in my opinion, it’s the best food at Disneyland Paris.

What About the Price? Is it Worth It?

I won’t lie—Downtown Restaurant isn’t the cheapest option out there, but it is considerably less than a Disney character meal or the buffet at Disneyland Hotel.

You’re looking at €45 per person for adults and only €25 for kids (under 2 eat free). But honestly? I think it’s worth it. The food quality, the variety on offer, and the awesome Marvel ambience make it feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. Plus, you’re in Disneyland Paris, so a little splurge on a special meal feels totally justified.

How to Score a Table at Downtown Restaurant Disneyland Paris

Downtown Restaurant is super popular, so if you’ve got your heart set on eating there, I recommend booking your table in advance.

You can do this through the Disneyland Paris app or website, and trust me, it’s worth the extra effort.

Downtown Restaurant is open every day from 6 pm to 11 pm, with the last reservation at 10:45 pm.

FAQ Can you eat at Disneyland Paris hotels without staying there?

Absolutely, you can! You don’t need to be a guest at one of the Disney hotels to enjoy a meal at their fantastic restaurants. Whether you’re staying off-site or just visiting for the day, you’re more than welcome to dine at any of the Disneyland Paris hotel restaurants.

It’s a great way to add Disney magic to your visit and to have a peek at a hotel you might want to book in future.

🤓 GOOD TO KNOW Some tables are reserved for hotel guests and they will get priority bookings. So if you are not a Disney hotel guest try to book as far in advance as possible.

FAQ How far in advance can you book Downtown Restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

If you are a Disney hotel guest, you can book Downtown up to 12 months in advance. If nothing looks available, then you can also ask your Disney hotel concierge at check-in (or during your stay) to find a table for you. That is the easiest way.

Or, you can book your table at Downtown Restaurant up to 60 days in advance if you are staying offsite, and I highly recommend doing so!

This restaurant is super popular, especially with Marvel fans, so slots fill up fast. To secure your reservation, hop onto the Disneyland Paris app or website as soon as your booking window opens. Trust me, you’ll want to plan ahead for this one.

🥳 Birthdays and Celebrations

Like all Disney restaurants, you can order a birthday celebration cake at Downtown Restaurant.

The glossy mousse cake costs €35, serves 8 and can be requested when you make your table reservation in the app. Or, you can request a cake from your server when they take your drinks order.

Special Dietary Options at Downtown

One of the things I love about Downtown Restaurant is how accommodating they are when it comes to special dietary needs.

Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have other specific dietary requirements like allergies, the staff here go out of their way to ensure you have a worry-free dining experience.

To give the kitchen enough time to make adjustments, put your dietary requests on the booking when you make your table reservation. Then, remind your host/hostess when you arrive at the restaurant. They will talk you through your options.

The buffet generally offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes, and the chefs are more than happy to make adjustments or prepare something special just for you. It’s just one more reason why Downtown Restaurant is such a popular choice at Disneyland Paris!

Don’t Miss the Marvel Hotel and Bar

While you’re there, take some time to explore Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. It’s honestly one of the coolest places in the resort, especially if you’re into all things Marvel. The hotel is packed with amazing details and artwork, and it’s fun to explore even if you’re not staying there.

There are also plenty of picture opportunities like the New York cab outside, the Iron Man suits and a fun Marvel comic book photo op (pictured above).

🤓 GOOD TO KNOW Meeting the Marvel characters is an experience reserved for hotel guests. But, if you are visiting on a quiet day it never hurts to ask if they have space.

✏️ PRO TIP
If you can’t finish your drink before your Downtown or Manhatten reservation, they will allow you to carry it over to the restaurant.

And the bar? Definitely worth a visit. The Skyline Bar has a rainbow of Marvel-themed cocktails that are as tasty as they are Instagram-worthy (the lemon meringue martini is my fave). And you can watch the Avengers in New York from the floor-to-ceiling ‘window.’

Whether you pop in before or after your meal, it’s a great way to round out your Marvel experience, and kids are welcome, too.

So, Why is Downtown So POPULAR?

All in all, Downtown Restaurant at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is a dining experience that I can’t recommend enough. It’s so popular because it has everything you could want: great food, a fun atmosphere, and that special Disney magic. That makes it one of my favourite places to eat at Disneyland Paris.

Whether you’re a Marvel superfan or just someone who enjoys a good meal, I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.
