1. Snap Your Picture in Front of the Castle
My favourite way to start a memorable day in Disneyland Paris is to get a picture in front of Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant.
Pink and perfect like a wedding cake topper, Sleeping Beauty’s castle is arguably the most beautiful Disney castle in the world.
✏️ PRO TIP For a great picture without the crowds, go down the little path just slightly to the left of the castle. Also try having a photo from the right side of the castle, over by the Castle Stage area.
2. Treat Yourself to a Yummy Crêpe
My blog isn’t called Crêpes and Castles for nothing! Trust me, these yummy treats are a Parisian snack worthy of your Disneyland Paris bucket list.
French crêpes can be found in both parks. Look out for Nutella, lemon, apricot and even goat cheese fillings.
3. Feel the Magic on a Fantasyland Ride
In the land of Walt Disney’s imagining, Fantasyland is all about living your storybook adventure. Your Disneyland Paris bucket list should include at least one of the rides here.
My 3 favourite must-do rides in Fantasyland are:
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Blanch-Neige et les Sept Nains). Spookier than in the USA Disney parks, Snow White flees through a dark forest.
- Peter Pan. A short ride but absolutely essential. Have you even been to Disney if you haven’t experienced Peter Pan?
- ‘it’s a small world.’ A musical boat ride around the world that will fill your heart with Disney magic.
4. Laugh and Scream on Big Thunder Mountain
If you’ve read my Disney Paris vs Disney USA article, you already know that Paris has the best version of Big Thunder Mountain in the world.
This Frontierland roller coaster feels tamer during the day and more thrilling at night. I recommend experiencing Big Thunder Mountain both ways!
5. Say Hi to an Iconic Disney Character
Is anything more heart-melting than a hug from a Disney character?
On your Disneyland Paris Bucket List should definitely be a character meet-and-greet.
My top 3 character suggestions for First-Timers are:
- Mickey Mouse in Fantasyland. He’s legendary and you can watch cute cartoons while you’re waiting.
- Pooh Bear on Main Street USA. Perfect for little ones and the young at heart. Grab a confectionary treat from the store opposite on Main Street to make the time pass quicker.
- Spider-Man in Avengers Campus. Beyond cool. Spider-Man is a talking character and seriously so funny!
6. Be Captivated by the Parade
Add enjoying a parade to your Disneyland Paris Bucket List!
- For most of the year, you’ll be able to see Disney Stars on Parade. A classic Disney parade with extravagant costumes. It includes Royal couples like Prince Charming and Cinderella and Maleficent as a fire-breathing dragon. My family likes to watch this from the curbs near the park exit.
- During special festival seasons and holidays like Halloween and Christmas, there will be a special entertainment schedule. Check out the Best Disneyland Paris Free Shows for the current list of parades.
7. Eat Something Mickey-Shaped
For me, half the fun of being at Disney is trying the fun snacks!
10 Best Mickey-Shaped Foods at Disneyland Paris
1. Pizza from Bella Notte or Colonel Hathis (you can also find it at the Sports Bar in Disney Village when they re-open).
2. Mickey ice cream bars (iconic!). You’ll find them on the menu as ‘Mickey Glace’ from the ice cream carts in the parks.
3. Beignets from Cable Car Bake Shop on Main Street or The Old Mill in Fantasyland. Hazelnut or apricot fillings (beware that they are more bread than filling!).
4. Cake pops from Boardwalk Candy Palace are my favourite! They come in cute themes for different seasons and are large enough to share (if you are feeling generous!).
5. At the same shop you can also get black and white Mickey cookies
6. Macarons. You’re in Paris, so if not now, when? Light and sweet, these come in various flavours with a picture of Mickey or one of his friends on the top.
7. Chocolate chip Mickey cookies with ears dipped in chocolate.
8. A Disney treat for lunch – tasty ham and cheese Mickey-shaped sandwiches (also come in a vegetarian option) at the Cable Car Bake Shop, Main Street.
9. Yummy waffles! Mickey-shaped waffles are usually drizzled with thick chocolate.
10. Celebrating? Order a Mickey Birthday Cake at any of the table-service restaurants!
8. Catch a Spectacular Show
Almost all of the shows are in Walt Disney Studios, aside from The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands, which is in the main park.
The outdoor show Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Return to Wonderland is a highlight in the warmer months. It’s a fabulous pop-rock musical show with BMX bike tricks and trampoline artists.
For a more intimate experience, see Mickey and the Magician at the Animagique Theater. A West-End style production that the whole family will enjoy.

9. Visit the Dragon Underneath the Castle
Unique to Disneyland Paris is the mysterious dragon in the castle dungeon. Shh… don’t wake her…
Also below the castle, check out the Seven Dwarfs cottage from Snow White. It leads to a storybook gift shop perfect for little princes and princesses.
10. Finish by Watching the Fireworks
Your Best Day Ever is drawing to a close, but the fun hasn’t stopped yet.
The nighttime fireworks extravaganza changes seasonally, so be sure to read the 11 Best Shows at Disneyland Paris, to find out the current schedule.
Catch them just before the park closing time in front of the castle.
