You Do Not Want to Miss These 9 BEST Shows At Disneyland Paris – Musicals, Parades, Fireworks And More!

Disneyland Paris shows are an absolute must-do for first-timers and repeat visitors. There are 9 amazing to shows, but my favourite is Mickey and the Magician. It has so many of my favourite Disney characters, stunning magical effects and plenty of feel-good moments you will remember for a lifetime. Isn’t that what we all love about Disney?

In this first-timer’s guide to shows at Disneyland Paris, I will cover:

  • What shows are in Disneyland Park
  • What shows are in Walt Disney Studios
  • Which are the BEST shows for adults, young families, and teenagers
Theatrical production Mickey and the Magician, on of the best shows at Disneyland Paris. Mickey, in short trousers and a beret, is on stage with Fairy Godmother.

Must-See Shows at Disneyland Paris

All Disneyland Paris shows are included in your park ticket. And they are not only a truly memorable experience, they are great for breaking up a long park day.

But which ones should you see? Let’s go over all the shows in both parks. Then I will explain which ones are the best.

A brilliantly lit stage has Timon, Simba and Pumbaa dancing enthusiastically

Disneyland Paris Shows in the Main Park

The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands

The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands is the only Disneyland Paris show in the main park. This musical has stunning costumes, acrobatic performers, and a shortened story about how Simba dramatically becomes the Lion King.

WHERE TO SEE IT Frontierland Theatre in the main park. At the end of Main Street, take the shortcut to Frontierland from the left arcade. Walk towards the Rustler Roundup Shootout Gallery, past Thunder Mountain to Cowboy Cookout. You will see the theatre near the Frontierland Railroad Depot.

A Million Splashes of Colour

Disneyland Paris’ newest parade happens throughout the late morning and early afternoon. A Million Splashes of Colour features all-new floats, a catchy song, and characters like Miguel from Coco, Mirabel from Encanto and Aysha from Wish. Plus, Mickey and friends are in their new matching outfits.

WHERE TO SEE IT A Million Splashes of Colour takes a route on Main Street, around the central hub and to an exit near It’s a Small World. You can get a great view at the front of the four castle stages facing Main Street. Or choose a side location such as by the Adventureland main entrance. If you are here, stay close to the white markings on the ground, and you should get good character interactions.

✏️ PRO TIP You can get up close to the dance performance on the four stages by picking a spot in the Castle Central Hub, but not in wet weather. When it rains, a shortened version of the show does not include the centre-stage dancers.

If you’re looking at fitting this parade into a day at the park, I included my itinerary including this new parade in my 2-Day Trip Report

🤓 GOOD TO KNOW The last day to see A Million Splashes of Colour is 30th September 2024. From October 1st, it is replaced with Mickey’s Halloween Celebration until November 3rd. That will be followed by Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade until January 6th.

An extra large parade float carries Crush, the turtle dad, from Finding Nemo. Below him 'swims' his son Squirt

Disney Stars on Parade

A nostalgic classic, Disney Stars on Parade features a fire-breathing Maleficent dragon and a huge cast of beloved Disney characters. Currently, it is running without the famous Peter Pan float, but it is still a must-do for first-timers.

WHERE TO SEE IT There are plenty of good spots to stand for Disney Stars on Parade, but my favourite is in the central hub to get the castle in the background for photos. Or, I love to see it near the front entrance to the park. My family and I wait for the parade on a curb with treats from the nearby confectionary store. It’s much more chilled out at that end than by the castle or on Main Street.

Stunning pastel pink, blue and yellow fireworks light up the castle; a must-do for your 1 day Disneyland Paris plan
Disney Dreams! A nighttime extravaganza around Sleeping Beauty Castle

Disney Electrical Sky Parade and Disney Dreams!

The first of its kind in all the Disney parks worldwide, the Disney Electrical Sky Parade is a stunning 5-minute drone show in the night sky above the castle. It harkens back to the fan-favourite Main Street Electrical Parade in Disneyland California and Walt Disney World from the 1970s onwards.

Another late evening show, Disney Dreams! nighttime extravaganza, combines stunning castle projections, dancing water, soaring Disney songs and even fireworks.

Hugely popular, expect large audiences at both shows.

WHERE TO SEE IT If you don’t mind crowds and are happy to stake out a spot early, you can’t beat seeing Disney Electrical Sky Parade and Disney Dreams! right in front of the castle. People sometimes wait up to 2 hours here, so be prepared and bring friends to help you take breaks.

Otherwise, try viewing the nighttime shows from the Castle Stage near Discoveryland. It’s more of a side view, but you don’t have to get there early (try for 15 minutes), and it’s far less crowded.

Under a blue spotlight, Mickey Mouse performs onstage with a large ensemble of dancers

Mickey and the Magician

The Mickey and Magician show always ranks high on my must-do list.

Join Mickey Mouse as he masters his insecurities to become the magician’s apprentice. Of course, he can only do that with the help of his friends! Expect a huge cast of classic Disney characters like Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, Beauty and the Beast, Rafiki from The Lion King, and Elsa and Olaf from Frozen.

This is a West End-style musical show with surprising magical effects and a talented, brilliant ensemble.

WHERE TO SEE IT Animagique Theater in Walt Disney Studios, near Aladdin’s Flying Carpets.

Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure

Another must-see show at Disneyland Paris is Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure

There are lots of wonderful surprises that happen in this show. And to keep it that way, cameras are forbidden.

Look out for a wonderful scene from ‘Up,’ Toy Story’s Rex’s first appearance in a Disney theme park, and the amazing puppetry of Nemo, Marlin and Dory.

WHERE TO SEE IT Production Courtyard – Studio Theater, Walt Disney Studios. Turn left as you exit Disney Studio 1 where the shops are.

Family friendly show at Disneyland Paris, Anna and Elsa from Frozen share an embrace
Frozen: A Musical Invitation, one of the most popular shows at Disneyland Paris 2024

Frozen: A Musical Invitation

If you have a Frozen fan in your party, Frozen: A Musical Invitation is a must-do.

This interactive musical is staged in two parts. First, you will sit in one theatre to watch Anna make plans for Elsa’s birthday with Kristoff and his reindeer Sven. Then you will stand up and move to a second seated location in Elsa’s ice castle where Anna and Kristoff are joined by Olaf and Elsa.

WHERE TO SEE IT Toon Studio – Animation Celebration, Walt Disney Studios. You can’t miss it when you come through Disney Studio 1 where all the shops are; it is straight ahead.

Stitch Live!

Aimed squarely at little ones, Stitch Live! invites youngsters to sit at the front on the carpet and have real conversations with Experiment 626, aka the loveable Stitch.

Unfortunately, we only meet Stitch in his cartoon form on a screen, but it is a marvellous, short adventure where he interacts with the audience. If you’ve done Turtle Talk with Crush at Walt Disney World, this will feel similar.

WHERE TO SEE IT Production Courtyard, Walt Disney Studios. Exit left out of Disney Studio 1 where the shops are. Continue walking straight, and you will see it up ahead.

Pastel-coloured puffs of smoke fill a blue sky above an outdoor theatre. The Alice and the Queen of Hearts show is a brilliant way to spend the afternoon of your strategy for Extra Magic Time Disneyland Paris.

Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland

A Pop-Rock BMX stunt meets acrobatics musical, Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland is wacky and entertaining.

WHERE TO SEE IT Theatre of the Stars, Walt Disney Studios

🤓 GOOD TO KNOW Alice and the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland is scheduled to close on 29 September 2024. It is not known if (or when) it will be coming back.

BEST Shows at Disneyland Paris 2024

All the shows at Disneyland Paris are suitable for the whole family. If you have enough time, I recommend watching all of them. There is no bad show at Disneyland Paris.

If this is your first time, or you are only returning for a short trip, you will want to make sure to see the best Disneyland Paris shows in 2024.

Here are my top recommendations for the best shows in Disneyland Paris.

Best Disneyland Paris Shows for Adults

If you are travelling solo, as a couple, or with friends, the best shows at Disneyland Paris are Mickey and the Magician in Walt Disney Studios and The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands in Disneyland Park. Both shows have talented performers, beautiful costumes and memorable moments, perfect for adults.

Honourable mention: Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure. If you are a huge Pixar fan, you will love the Toy Story characters, a passionate ‘Remember Me’ from Coco, and a gorgeous scene from ‘Up.’

A cartoon Stitch is on screen while children are sat in front
Stitch Live! is a must-do for youngsters

Best Disneyland Paris Shows for Small Children

If you are visiting Disneyland Paris with small children, I highly recommend Stitch Live!. You won’t have to queue for more than 5 minutes, and the show lasts only around 10 minutes. It is an interactive show, so if your child is outgoing, they might even be chosen to speak with Stitch.

Another wonderful show for children is Frozen: A Musical Invitation. Although the wait for this show is usually the longest, it is a must-do for Frozen fans. There is nowhere to meet Anna or Elsa in the parks, so this is the closest you can get to them. Be aware that Elsa sings ‘Let It Go’ in French, but the show is completely understandable even if you only speak English.

Best Disneyland Paris Shows for Teens and Tweens

The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands in Disneyland Park is terrific for teens and tweens. It is closer to a Cirque du Soleil show than a traditional musical, featuring acrobats and suspended rope artists.

Teens and tweens will also enjoy Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure, which has Toy Story and Coco characters and a lively, surreal story-telling style.

Honourable mention: Mickey and the Magician is a real crowd-pleaser and great for older audiences, too.

Best Disneyland Paris Parade

There are two parades to choose from at Disneyland Paris. If you only have time for one, you probably should pick Disney Stars on Parade (pictured above). It is a popular parade that has been around a long time for good reason – it features all the classic Disney characters and princesses in larger-than-life floats. Plus, the fire-breathing Maleficent dragon is jaw-dropping.

But, if you have already been to the Disney American theme parks, you might want to check out the new parade, A Million Splashes of Colour, instead. It’s different to the parades in California and Florida, and the fantastic dancers on the four castle stages make it worth seeing for that alone.

Best Disneyland Paris Nighttime Show

At the time of writing, the only nighttime shows are the Disney Electrical Sky Parade and Disney Dreams!.

Both are spectacular light and firework shows that take place together at the park closing time above the castle. The drone show is about 5 minutes, followed shortly by the castle projection and fireworks show for 20 minutes.

Last year we had Avengers: Power the Night at Walt Disney Studios over the summer and Christmas. They did not bring it back for 2024, but we have high hopes for 2025!
