Disneyland Paris Reveals the Regal View Princesses and Their Exclusive Costumes

Indulge me for a minute while I play at being a detective in a fairy tale mystery…

Disneyland Paris has just shared the first photos of the Regal View princesses who will appear in Disney Adventure World.

And we all know costumes in the parks are never random. Disney always hides little clues in the details, and these ones say quite a lot.

The first thing we need to talk about?
There’s not a tiara in sight.

• Belle isn’t in her golden gown. She’s in her village dress, the one she wears while wandering around town with a book tucked under her arm.
• Aurora isn’t in pink or blue either. She’s Briar Rose, more ready for a waltz in the forest than the castle ballroom.
• Mulan is in her red and blue hero home-coming outfit.
• Ariel appears in her blue town dress, the one she wears sightseeing with Eric.

In other words, these are princesses on their day off.

Which makes me think Regal View is going for something different from Auberge de Cendrillon. Instead of hosting a big royal banquet, it almost feels like these characters are just popping in from their adventures to grab a bite with us.

And you know what? Sign me up for a restaurant where princesses casually drop by between saving kingdoms.

A Storybook Adventure Theme Emerging

Looking at the costumes together, I can’t help feeling like an exciting pattern is starting to appear.

None of these looks are the big royal ‘ta-da!’ moment from the end of the films. I think they’re the versions of the characters we spend the most interesting parts of the story with:

• Belle questioning whether there might be more to life than her quiet village.
• Briar Rose dancing with the forest animals and expressing her desire to fall in love. (And not just anyone, but the man of her dreams.)
• Ariel exploring the workings of a whole new world with wide-eyed curiosity.
• Mulan returning home after saving China and finally being recognised for the hero she is.

In other words, these aren’t the princesses in their princess persona. They’re the versions of these women still in the middle of their adventures — the moments that actually make them worthy of the crown.

So… who else might appear?

The four costumes Disney revealed give us our first real clues about the Regal View lineup.

But they may not tell the whole story.

Because if you start looking closely at the artwork inside the restaurant itself, a few more familiar faces begin to appear.

The décor inside Regal View shows several heroines from across different Disney stories in artwork all over the restaurant. For example in one of the murals (pictured above) clearly shows Jasmine, Raya and Cinderella.

I find Cinderella here particularly intriguing.

She already headlines her own character dining experience at Auberge de Cendrillon, which has long been the park’s classic princess restaurant. So it would be interesting to see whether Disney includes her here at Regal View, but in the outfit featured here in the mural instead of the blue ballgown.

If we zoom out beyond the restaurant itself and look at some of the early Adventure Way promotional artwork, a few other adventurous heroines appear as well.

Princess Jasmine was featured in early concept visuals for the land. Her story of independence would fit beautifully with the adventurous theme Regal View seems to be celebrating.

Then there’s Merida, who also appeared in some early promotional imagery for Adventure Way but hasn’t yet appeared in any of the costume reveals.

And finally, the one I’m personally most curious about.

Raya.

The paintings and plates inside Regal View already include plenty of references to Raya and the Last Dragon, and if the restaurant is truly celebrating heroines from across different Disney stories, she would be a fascinating addition to the lineup.

Of course, Disney hasn’t officially confirmed any of these characters yet.

But between the costumes, the restaurant artwork, and the wider Adventure Way concept art, it certainly feels like Regal View could bring together a much broader group of storybook heroines than the initial reveal might suggest.

The Number of Princesses at Regal View

The next obvious question is how many Regal View princesses will you be able to meet in one sitting?
And the honest answer is… it’s surprisingly hard to guess.

Disneyland Paris character dining doesn’t follow one consistent formula. Every restaurant does things slightly differently:

• At Royal Banquet, for example, you’ll usually meet four characters. Mickey and Minnie are always there, but the other two rotate — sometimes it’s Donald and Daisy, other times Goofy and Pluto.

• Then there’s La Table de Lumière, the newest restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel. There you actually meet six characters: three royal couples who visit your table together. Belle and Adam appear most frequently, while the other couples rotate more often.

• And of course there’s Auberge de Cendrillon, the classic princess dining experience. Cinderella is the only character you can reliably expect to see every time, along with her two mice. The other princesses change depending on the day.

Disney tends to keep things a little flexible, which is probably helpful for cast scheduling… but it also means there’s always a bit of surprise when you arrive. Which is, of course, a rather clever way to tempt people back again.

Putting the Pieces Together – How Many Will You See?

If I really, really had to put a number on it, I’d hope that we’d be able to meet 6 princesses at Regal View, to justify the price tag.

We’ve only seen four costumes revealed — Belle, Briar Rose, Ariel and Mulan — but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the only characters who will appear.

It’s possible those four could be the core lineup, or, as I am hoping, perhaps joined by one or two additional princesses.

Exclusive Costumes for the Regal View Princesses

There’s another detail about these costumes that you might have spotted straight away.

Three of them appear to be completely new for Disneyland Paris.

Aurora as Briar Rose, Ariel in her blue town dress, and Mulan in her red and blue hero outfit aren’t looks we’ve previously had for meet-and-greets.

At Disneyland Paris, princess encounters are usually quite predictable. Most of the time the princesses appear in their tiaras and ballgowns at Auberge de Cendrillon, the Disneyland Hotel restaurants, in parades, or tucked away inside the Princess Pavilion.

So when an entirely new set of outfits appears like this, it definitely gets Disney fans excited.

The ‘Regal’ Question

There’s one small elephant in the room here. The restaurant is called Regal View, after all. And when Disney fans hear a name like that, it’s quite natural to imagine something very traditional — glittering gowns, sparkling tiaras, and princesses arriving in full royal splendour.

So seeing these characters appear in their adventure outfits instead of their ballgowns might come as a surprise to some guests.

But the more I think about it, the more the name actually makes sense.

Yes, the restaurant itself has a regal view — looking out across the lake toward Elsa’s ice castle.

But perhaps the idea here isn’t about princesses being regal in the traditional sense. Maybe Regal View celebrates the moments when these characters earned their crowns in the first place. (Or at least that’s my interpretation, and I’m sticking to it! )

Hot Take: I think Villager Belle Will Disappear From the Park

Belle’s provincial dress is the one exception here. We have been able to meet her in that outfit in the park recently, usually near the The Old Mill.

But here’s my little theory… and you heard it here first.

I have a feeling those meets might actually have been something of a dress rehearsal for Regal View.

Once this restaurant opens, it would make a lot of sense for Villager Belle to move here permanently rather than appearing in random meet-and-greets outside of the Princess Pavilion. Regal View would then become a place where you can meet princesses like Belle in rare story outfits.

And for character collectors (especially visitors coming from the US or Asia where different costumes appear), that kind of exclusive lineup can be a pretty big draw.

One Small Concern about Regal View Restaurant: The Food

If you’ve seen the menu discussion online, you’ll know there’s already some debate.

Some fans are excited about the more creative dishes.
Others are… less convinced.
A few people have already declared the menu ‘gross,’ which feels a little dramatic before anyone has even tasted it.

Personally, I’m intrigued. It looks different from the traditional princess dining menus we’ve seen before, which could end up being a really fun surprise.

But it’s definitely something guests will want to look at before booking.

A Celebration of Heroines

Since the restaurant hasn’t opened yet, yours truly the princess detective is still piecing together the clues:

• Four costumes
• A handful of hints in the décor
• A few early concept images
• And plenty of questions about who else might wander through the doors.

But one thing already feels clear to me: Regal View looks set to be refreshingly modern, not another formal princess banquet.

Instead of hosting a royal reception, the princesses might simply pop in to share stories of adventure and a little gossip over lunch… before heading back out to polish their crowns and save their kingdoms.

And I have to say, I’m rather delighted by that idea.
