Want to know just how far I’ll go to meet Disneyland Paris characters? I once queued three hours and twenty minutes to meet The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda (or Grogu, if you’re fancy). Was it worth it? Well… at 3 hours and 19 minutes, I would’ve said no. But then Grogu blinked his big eyes at me and I melted. 🥹
So yes — I’m a total character nut, and proud of it. If you or your little ones love a character hug, a twirl with a princess or a superhero fist bump, this post is for you.
In this guide, I’m spilling the tea on the 10 best places to meet characters at Disneyland Paris — from iconic spots like Meet Mickey to sneaky hidden locations the app doesn’t even mention. 👀

👑 So… Who Can You Meet at Disneyland Paris?
Quite a lot, actually! From all-time icons like Mickey, Minnie, and the Disney Princesses, to special appearances from Marvel superheroes, Pixar pals, and rare characters like Max Goof, Olaf, and even Mickey in his Phantom Manor costume — there’s something for everyone. Some characters are there every day. Others pop up only during certain seasons, or in exclusive hotel or Annual Pass events.
This guide covers where to find them all — whether you’re using the app, joining a Virtual Queue, or just spotting someone by surprise while walking past The Old Mill. 💫

😲 You Might Be Surprised Where the Characters Aren’t…
If this is your first time, you might be expecting to just stumble across Disneyland Paris characters strolling through the parks — like Cinderella waving from the castle steps or Mickey popping out from Main Street for a selfie.
I hate to break it to you… but that’s not how it works anymore.
Once upon a time, characters did wander more freely, but they’d get mobbed in seconds. Kids got jostled, grown-ups started arguing, and chaos usually followed. So now, character meet-and-greets are mostly organised — with set times, dedicated spots, and even virtual queues for the most popular ones.
But don’t worry! It’s still very possible to meet all your faves — you just need to know where to look (and that’s what this post is all about 😉).
📍 1. Permanent Meet-and-Greets (Mickey, Minnie, Princesses and More)
Some Disneyland Paris characters have their very own permanent homes in the parks — think of them as official meet-and-greet royalty.
You’ll find these meets listed in the Disneyland Paris app, complete with set times and wait estimates. They take place in dedicated buildings, often with lovely backdrops and (sometimes) indoor queues — perfect for escaping the weather!
Here are the big ones to look out for:
- Mickey Mouse: Meet him in his theatre in Fantasyland, behind Dumbo. He’s usually dressed in magician’s gear and ready to strike a pose! But look out for Virtual Queue rules (see later in this post).
- Minnie Mouse + a friend: This meet changes seasonally! Prior to the Disney Music Festival, Minnie (alongside Daisy Duck or Clarice Chipmunk) met in Discoveryland in Arcade Beta (Videopolis). Their backdrop is super cute and very Euro-chic. But, we are waiting to see where her meet changes to after the festival (join my newsletter to be updated).
- Disney Princesses: Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, Tiana and Belle are the usual stars at the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland — but here’s the catch: you’ll only meet one, and it’s always a surprise! ✏️ Pro tip: If you’ve got more than one kid and they’re hoping for different princesses, it might be worth managing those expectations ahead of time.
These are some of the most popular Disneyland Paris characters to meet, so lines can get long — try to head there early in the day or during parade times for a shorter wait.
📍 2. Virtual Queue Characters (Mickey, Stitch, Superheroes & More)
Some of the most in-demand Disneyland Paris characters — like Mickey, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and even Stitch — can only be met by joining a Virtual Queue through the official app.
This system is used for:
- Mickey Mouse in his house in Fantasyland
- The Hero Training Center at Avengers Campus in Walt Disney Studios — home to Spider-Man and his Marvel mates.
- Darth Vader in Starport, Discoveryland
- Stitch, who is currently in an Elvis costume joining the fun in Discoveryland during the seasonal event, Disney Music Festival.
⏳ These spots go fast — Stitch, for example, can fill up within 20 seconds of the queue opening!

📍 3. Scheduled Outdoor Meets (Max, Mickey in Phantom Manor Outfit, Baloo & More!)
Beyond the big indoor locations, lots of Disneyland Paris characters pop up around the parks for more casual (but still scheduled) meet-and-greets — and the Disneyland Paris app is your best friend for spotting them.
These aren’t just filler characters, either. We’re talking icons like:
- A character from the Lion King (Timon or Rafiki), near Colonel Hathi’s Restaurant
- Baloo from The Jungle Book, near Hakuna Matata
- A character from Aladdin (usually Jafar or Genie, occasionally Aladdin)
- A surprise Disney character by Casey’s Corner. Currently this has been Donald Duck (but in previous seasons it was Winnie the Pooh, Piglet or Brer Rabbit).
- A Frontierland resident (Minnie Mouse or Chip and Dale usually) next to Cowboy Cookout in their Western outfits.
- Another Frontierland resident, Goofy in his Western outfit, around the back of Cowboy Cookout near the train station.
- Goofy’s nephew, Max, currently near the Boarding House on Main Street U.S.A.
- A character or two (or even three!) from Alice in Wonderland. This can range from being Alice, Alice and the Mad Hatter, or the White Rabbit. It can even be the Queen of Hearts accompanied by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!
- ‘Mysterious Meeting’ near Phantom Manor – aka Mickey Mouse in his Phantom Manor outfit. Occasionally this will be Pluto.
- Olaf from Frozen in Toon Studio, Walt Disney Studios Park
📍 4. Character Dining at Disneyland Paris (The Easiest Way to Guarantee a Meet)
If you want guaranteed face time with Disneyland Paris characters and a decent sit-down meal, character dining is the way to go.
There are a few different options, depending on who you want to meet:
- Auberge de Cendrillon (Fantasyland) – Princesses galore! You’ll meet Cinderella, her two mice friends, and usually two additional princesses (Aurora, Snow White, Belle or Ariel).
- Plaza Gardens (Main Street) – This is your best bet for Mickey, Minnie, Tigger, Pluto and friends. They’re bouncy, huggy, and very good at spotting kids in cute costumes. You can dine here either for breakfast or dinner if you want to see the characters.
- The Royal Banquet (Disneyland Hotel) – This newer buffet option features Mickey and Minnie in their most regal outfits, plus either Donald and Daisy OR Goofy and Pluto.
- La Table Lumiere (Disneyland Hotel) – This newer option features royal couples like Belle & Beast, Ariel and Eric or Aurora & Phillip. It’s exclusive to Disneyland Hotel guests, so plan accordingly.
🍴 Character meals are pricey, but you’re paying for the experience — especially handy if you’ve got little ones who might not manage long queues in the parks.
✏️ Pro tip: Bring an autograph book! Even the shyest kids tend to warm up once Mickey scribbles something silly.
📍 5. Surprise Meets at Quiet Spots Around the Parks
There are also some secret-ish character spots that don’t always appear in the app — but have signs on the day with times posted. These are often where you’ll find the real gems.
A few to possibly look out for:
- Winnie the Pooh characters (like Eeyore and Tigger) near Plaza Gardens or near Casey Jr at the back of Fantasyland
- Woody in Worlds of Pixar, Walt Disney Studios Park
- Mrs Incredible in Worlds of Pixar, Walt Disney Studios Park
- Belle in her village dress near The Old Mill (Fantasyland) (but not during the Disney Music Festival)
- Daisy Duck near Ribbons and Bows at the entrance to Main Street U.S.A.
These hidden-ish character meets are not guaranteed, so they can be some of the most memorable. They’re usually quieter, and the character interactions quite playful.
✏️ Pro Tip: Just because a meet isn’t in the app doesn’t mean it’s not happening — keep your eyes peeled for green umbrellas in these areas.
📍 6. Catch Characters in the Parades (With Bonus Interaction!)
You don’t always need to queue to see Disneyland Paris characters. All the big parades feature loads of familiar faces — including Mickey, Minnie, the Disney Princesses, Peter Pan characters, The Little Mermaid, Anna and Elsa, Maleficent in dragon form (incredible!), and more.
🎉 If you wave enthusiastically, many characters will wave back — and sometimes even walk over for a quick high five, especially if your child is dressed up like them!
It’s not a guaranteed meet-and-greet, but it’s still an amazing way to interact with your favourite characters — and it’s included in your ticket!

📍 7. Seasonal Events & Special Appearances
Some of the most exciting Disneyland Paris characters only come out to play during seasonal celebrations or limited-time festivals. If you’re visiting during Halloween, Christmas, Easter or the summer holidays, keep your eyes peeled — the parks are full of surprises!
Here’s what you might spot:
- 🎃 Halloween – Chip and Dale dressed as ghosts, Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween Stitch or the Disney villains causing mischief in Fantasyland
- 🎄 Christmas – Santa Stitch (so fun!), and Disney Princesses in their winter royal outfits
- 🌈 Disney Music Festival – Special outfits, live shows, and rare character pop-ups like Elvis Stitch, or characters in festival-exclusive costumes for the festival’s finale
These are often listed in the app, but not always. So your best bet is to check signage around the park, follow the official Disneyland Paris socials — or keep an eye on my Instagram and newsletter for the latest!
✏️ Pro Tip: If your child has their heart set on meeting a particular character in costume (like Halloween Stitch), make sure to check what’s happening during your visit before you book!
📍 8. Disney Hotel Character Experiences
Some Disneyland Paris character experiences are reserved for guests staying at certain hotels — and if you’re staying at one of these, don’t miss your chance!
- Disneyland Hotel – You’ll be able to book a Princess meet-and-greet up to 7 days in advance via the app or at check-in. It’s very exclusive and very royal. 👑
- Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel – Guests can meet Marvel heroes in a private Avengers area. You’ll be able to book a slot 7 days ahead in the app or upon arrival. Recent appearances include Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man!
If you’re staying at either of these hotels, definitely take advantage — the queues are short, the lighting is great, and the characters are top tier.
🏨 But What About the Other Disney Hotels?
Here’s a quick rundown of who you might meet at each hotel:
- Newport Bay Club – Classic characters like Mickey, Minnie or Donald in adorable nautical outfits.
- Sequoia Lodge – Fab Five favourites in cosy outdoorsy looks (think plaid and hiking boots).
- Hotel Santa Fe – Goofy or friends in racing-themed gear, nodding to the Cars films.
- Hotel Cheyenne – This is the exception! You’ll usually meet a Pixar character like Woody or Jesse in their Western outfits — perfect for the Toy Story vibe.
- Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Disneyland Hotel have their own exclusive character areas (see above) and require a hotel stay to access.
Characters usually appear morning and/or evening. Check with the hotel front desk or guest services for the most up-to-date times.
💬 FAQ: Can I Go to a Different Disney Hotel for Character Meets?
Technically, the hotel character meets are designed for guests of that hotel. But in practice, many guests visit other hotels to try their luck — and it often works! Whether you’re allowed to join the queue depends entirely on how busy it is and the cast member at the time. They might ask to see your Magic Pass if the line gets long, but other times they’ll wave you in with a smile.
✏️ Pro tip: Go at off-peak times (like mid-morning on a weekday) for the best chance of being allowed in!
📍 9. Disneyland Passholder Character Events
If you’ve got a Disneyland Pass (the DLP Annual Pass), you’ll occasionally get access to exclusive character events.
There are two types:
- Passholder Parties – Held a few times per year, these after-hours events feature rare Disneyland Paris characters either doing meets individually or more commonly for a small crowd. Plus special shows that are not to be missed (Jungle Book Jive is my fave!).
- Pop-Up Meet-and-Greets – These are very limited events with hard-to-find characters like Ortensia, Oswald, Clarice, Jack Sparrow, or Tinkerbell. You’ll need to book them in the Passholder Portal and watch out for announcements to grab a spot (follow my Instagram to be alerted when new characters are announced).
📸 It’s often more of a wave-and-photo-op situation, but if you’re a character collector, these events are golden.
📍 10. Roaming Characters (Yes, They Still Exist!)
They’re rare… but not extinct! Sometimes, Disneyland Paris characters do just walk through the parks — usually during busy seasons like Halloween, Christmas, Easter or summer holidays.
Think:
- Marvel characters doing their muscle-y duties in Avengers Campus
- Jack Sparrow swaggering through Adventureland
- Jafar lurking in the shadows
- Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters making snide remarks in Fantasyland
- Gaston strutting around like he owns the place (he sort of does)
- Disney Princesses crossing Fantasyland on the way to the Pavilion — practice your curtsy!
They won’t stop for autographs, but you can walk and chat with them — and if you’re very quick, snap a selfie on the go, too.
✏️ Pro Tip: These moments are often the most fun, so have your camera ready when you’re wandering between lands! A phone lanyard might be a good idea if you like the sound of that.
📌 Bonus Tip: Catch Mickey at the Railway Station!
If you’re arriving early or staying late, keep an eye out for Mickey Mouse waving from the Disneyland Railroad Station at the park entrance.
He’s often there:
- 💫 In the morning, greeting early guests as they enter the park
- 🌙 Just after the fireworks, waving goodbye from above as guests leave (but only for a few minutes — you have to be quick!)
It’s a lovely way to start or end your day with a bit of Disney sparkle — no queue required.
