The 5 Best Things for Your Ultimate Disneyland Paris Packing List in Summer! (Olaf Would Be Jealous)
‘In Summmerrrr… ‘As my favourite snowman sings in Frozen: ‘Oh the sky will be blue, and you guys’ll be there too, when I finally do what frozen things do!’ Ahh. Summer is my favourite season to visit Disneyland Paris. Less rain, longer park days and a chance to top up your Vitamin D (as long as you’re not made of snow… Sorry, Olaf!).
If you’re heading to Paris in the summer months, you will want to make sure you’ve packed everything you need for a hassle-free and enjoyable trip for your family. Here’s a complete guide to the ultimate Disneyland Paris summer packing list — what to bring, what to skip, and what will save your holiday sanity in 30°C heat.

Tip #1: Try Not to Overpack
Before we dive into the list, let’s quickly talk luggage limits — they’ll shape what you can actually pack!
🤓 GOOD TO KNOW Whatever your means of transport, you won’t be allowed to take fresh fruit/veg (except bananas, pineapple and coconut), dairy or meat products across the EU border.
Luggage Allowance for Eurotunnel
If you are travelling by car, you can bring all you like (if it fits in your vehicle!). Eurotunnel lets you take anything aside from flammable gas canisters.
Luggage Allowance for Air Travel
Taking a flight? Luggage allowance will depend on your airline, but air travel generally has the strictest luggage restrictions. EasyJet, for example, allows a small cabin bag or a large cabin bag depending on your seat (see below). Then you might need to pay for your hold luggage according to weight. Always check with your airline to avoid unexpected charges at check-in. And remember that liquids usually need to be limited to 100ml bottles.

Luggage Allowance for Eurostar
- On the Eurostar, you can take 2 suitcases and a piece of hand luggage per person.
- There’s no weight restriction; they just ask that you be able to carry your suitcase and lift it on your own.
- You won’t need to worry about any liquids restrictions either.

Tip #2: Clothes That Keep You Cool
It sounds obvious, but pack comfortable clothes for Disneyland Paris in summer. The dress code is very casual, and even in the more expensive restaurants, guest attire will be very relaxed.
Clothes for Summer in Disneyland Paris
We want to look great in our holiday photos. But to look great, we should try to be comfortable, too!
The clothes to pack for Disneyland Paris in summer are:
- Light cotton fabrics
- Breathable activewear like basketball shorts or light jerseys
- Shorts and Disney T-shirts
- Loose sundresses
- Mini dresses (with bicycle shorts underneath for rides!)
- Light cotton button-up shirts to layer over vest tops or strappy dresses
- Cotton dressing-up costumes for children. Or just fun accessories like ears, crowns, wands and swords
- Light cardigan for chilly mornings and evenings
- Pac-a-mac or disposable poncho for surprise showers

Disneyland Paris Summer Shoes
Shoes for the summertime at Disneyland Paris should be breathable and well-worn. Although I always pack a Compeed blister patch, I hope never to use it!
My family’s favourite shoes to pack for Disneyland Paris in summer are:
- Teva sandals. I love the flatforms (that rare unicorn of comfortable and good-looking – my Teva flatforms are so comfy and go with anything)
- Timberland sandals. fantastic for younger kids, my boys lived in Timberlands every summer until they couldn’t fit any more!
- New Balance trainers
- Skechers trainers
- Crocs. Especially popular with children because of the huge choice of Disney-inspired charms!
- Havaianas. Inexpensive and durable, my favourite Havaianas for the parks is the kind with a strap so they don’t fall off.
- Birkenstocks
- Fit Flops

Tip #3: Sun Safety Must-Haves
Sun protection is one of the most important parts of any Disneyland Paris summer packing list — because nothing ruins the day quicker than a painful sunburn.
- High-factor sun cream. It’s a bit pricier than other brands, but my favourite is UltraSun for my whole family. It smells nice, it’s not sticky and lasts all day. I also swear by Garnier dry UV spray for my face as it goes over my makeup, is non-greasy and doesn’t cause breakouts on my sensitive skin.
- A pocket-size sun cream is useful to top up later in the day without having to bring your big family-size bottle with you.
- Sun hats. Floppy hats are best for kids, offering better neck coverage. Now that my kids are older and too cool for floppy hats, it’s all about the baseball caps. But I still make sure to put sun cream on their necks and faces.
- A head scarf. This might be just unique for me, but I need a scarf to keep the centre parting on my head from burning! I will just fix my scarf on with hair pins and it’s fine for the rides.
- If you’re taking a stroller, be sure to bring the sunshade for little ones. You can even get a SnoozeShade that extends the cover for your pram.

Tip #4: Pack the Perfect Park Bag
My ideal Disney park bag? Light enough to carry, big enough for all the essentials.
Our Two Favourite Backpacks for Disneyland Paris
If you’re shopping for a new backpack, hands-down the best backpack for Disneyland Paris is the Kanken Fjallraven. The Swedish school backpacks are super light and extremely durable. And the full-zippered pocket is so convenient.
In fact, the Kanken backpack is perfect for flights because you can slide it under the seat and it opens wide from the top. It also converts from a backpack to a carry bag. We’ve taken ours to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Disneyland California many, many times. (And they are great for kids, too, having survived the toughest conditions of all – school!)

My other fave? Disney Loungefly backpacks. They’re small, sure, but so stylish — I’ve got a few in my collection just for fun.
Park Bag Items for Your Disneyland Paris Summer Packing List – Adults
For your Disneyland Paris park bag, pack these in summer:
- Disneyland Paris park passes or confirmation emails. Preferably printed, but usually, scans from your device are just fine.
- Water bottle. We like foldable water bottles to save weight. Or Sistema bottles because they fit in a Loungefly side pocket or a Kanken Fjallraven side pocket.
- Portable charger. The Charmast battery pack has integrated cables, but an Anker battery bank holds enough energy for multiple charges of more than one device (and is super reliable).
- Lip balm. The parks are so dry!
- Hand sanitiser. You’ll want this after touching all those rides.
- Mini hand lotion. Because restroom hand soap is so drying!
- Travel tissues and hand wipes. I love having hand wipes to clean up sticky tables before we eat.
- Mini nail file (you’d be surprised how annoying it is to have a ripped nail!)
- Sunglasses & case. This neoprene sunglasses case clips onto your bag so no fuss looking for it in the scramble on/off rides.
- Mini purse for your debit/credit card, ID and a little bit of cash in Euros
- Mini first aid kit.I pop plasters, moleskin, a dab of Savlon, paracetamol and Calpol melts in a tiny sandwich bag — done.
- Mouse Ear Holder. Minnie ears can get heavy after a while, so it’s nice to clip them onto a bag knowing they won’t get crushed.
- A disposable poncho for a surprise rain shower. If you know it’s going to rain, you might want shoe covers for your trainers instead of taking heavy rain boots.
- A light cardigan or hoody for chilly mornings and evenings
- A sandwich bag for any food or snacks you want to finish later on (also handy for your kid’s lollipop they don’t want after 10 licks!)
- Fan or cool towels if it’s very hot
- A UV umbrella is nice to have, especially for outdoor queues for characters.
- A lanyard. ✏️ PRO TIP I like tying the lanyard to my backpack and tucking it into a pocket. I use it for Disney PhotoPass. Saves me scrambling around to look for it in the madness of a character meet!

Park Bag Items for Your Disneyland Paris Summer Packing List – Kids
My children are older now, so thankfully they are happy to carry their own backpacks at Disneyland Paris.
🎒 What to Pack in Your Kid’s Disney Backpack
- A water bottle. Metal water bottles are great at keeping your drink cold (these insulated bottles come in fantastic colours). Bottles can be refilled at fountains around the park. You can take a mini squeezy squash if your kids don’t like the taste.
- A hoodie for chilly mornings and evenings
- A handheld fan if it’s going to be very hot
- A mini portable charger if they have phones. My kids use their phones as cameras and play games with each other in the long queues. Their phones are older and run out of battery after a few hours, so small battery packs are really useful.
- Autograph book and Sharpie pens (or one of these other Unique Disney Autograph Ideas).

Tip #5: Hotel Comfort Hacks
Air conditioning is hit-and-miss at Disneyland Paris accommodations. If you’re driving to DLP this summer, consider bringing a desk fan (and power converter). This was a lifesaver for us at Villages Nature in August! I also recommend bringing your own pillows for Villages Nature, as the ones provided are very small.
Here are a few other items you might want for your hotel or accommodation at Disneyland Paris:
- Swimming costumes
- Flip flops for the pool area
- A large plastic bag to take wet swimsuits home
- Extension lead with USB slots and converter plug

Bonus Tip: Heatproof Your Hair & Makeup
If you’re someone who still attempts a beauty routine in 30°C theme park heat (hello, it me), here are a few hair and makeup tips for your Disneyland Paris summer packing list.
Hair Tips
If you regularly straighten your hair, you might want to ask your hairdresser for a Keratin treatment before you go on holiday. Then you won’t need your hair dryer, which is great because the hotel ones are pretty feeble, and they take forever to dry hair.
More hair items to pack in the summertime for Disneyland Paris are:
- Clips to put your hair up or tie it back
- Shower cap, to avoid using the hair dryer
- Dry shampoo. You won’t have time to wash and dry your hair for your busy park days!
Make-up Tips
Not fussed about makeup on holiday? I envy you! But if you want a few tips, here’s what I pack for Disneyland Paris in June, July and August:
- Estée Lauder double-wear foundation. It really does last and last!
- Matte fix spray. Urban Decay is the gold standard, but NYX works just as well at a fraction of the price.
- Water-resistant mascara. Because of the fireworks of course 😭
- Eye shadow primer. This will help keep your eyes looking fresh.
- Kat Von D tattoo eye liner. It just stays put! Elf Intense eye liner is decent dupe.
- Nourishing lip balm. The parks are so dry. Lacura collagen lip oil from Aldi is my favourite.
- Blotting paper. Game-changer! I slip this tiny item in my Disney park bag to remove all the oil on my face in the afternoon without having to pack on more makeup.
