Annette’s Diner Closing 5 January 2026 for Major Renovation
If you love milkshakes, roller-skating servers, and the retro sparkle of a true American diner, brace yourself: Annette’s Diner will officially close on 5 January 2026 for a long-awaited renovation.
This closure has been rumoured for years, and while we’ve known something was coming, it’s a relief to finally have a date for Annette’s Diner closing. At least now, fans can enjoy one last burger or American pancake breakfast over the Christmas season before the doors close temporarily.

What We Know So Far about Annette’s Diner Closing
Annette’s Diner is one of the few original Disney Village restaurants that has been here since the resort opened in 1992 (back when it was still called Festival Disney!). Alongside Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon and The Steakhouse, it’s one of the final nostalgic pieces of early Disneyland Paris history — so this update feels like the end of an era.
According to official planning permits and reports from DLP Works, the restaurant will undergo a complete interior renovation and expansion. The key points so far:
- Full interior renovation and expansion to increase seating capacity
- Kitchen relocation to a new rear building to free up more dining space
- New staff areas (including office and meeting room)
- Demolition of older boundary walls and a modular building
- Cold storage relocation
- Roof and façade updates with longer-lasting materials
Despite the large-scale work, the best news is that the theme will remain the same. The 1950s American diner look — all chrome, jukeboxes, and neon — is staying put.
Why the Refurbishment Matters
This renovation marks the final step in the first phase of the Disney Village transformation plan. With Planet Hollywood already demolished (making way for Casa Giulia in 2026) and the rest of the Village’s main street being reimagined, Annette’s closure is the next big piece in the puzzle.
It’s a promising sign that Disneyland Paris intends to keep control of this fan-favourite location rather than outsourcing it. Which hopefully means the charm and quality will remain intact when it reopens.
The upstairs seating area will also be preserved, and the refreshed layout should make it easier for the restaurant to handle peak crowds once it returns.
A Nostalgic Touch
For long-time visitors, Annette’s Diner is more than just a place to grab a burger, it’s a time capsule of early Disneyland Paris. The interior design was originally created by Morris Nathanson, the same artist behind several other Festival Disney venues, including Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.
It’s reassuring to know that this mid-century Americana aesthetic — a core part of Disney Village’s quirky charm — will live on after the renovation.

My Tips on Where to Eat Instead (No Reservation Needed!)
If you’re visiting Disney Village after Annette’s Diner closes and you’re not sure where to grab a bite, don’t worry, there are still some great options nearby that don’t require booking far in advance.
🐸 Rainforest Café is always a fun choice, especially for families. The tropical thunderstorms and animatronic animals make it an experience as much as a meal, and you can always walk in without a reservation.
🤠 Billy Bob’s La Grange Buffet is another solid pick. It’s often available for last-minute bookings and has a relaxed, all-you-can-eat vibe with loads of variety (plus some surprisingly good desserts!).

When Will Annette’s Diner Reopen?
There’s no confirmed reopening date just yet, but we have an estimate time given the scale of the project and feedback from staff of the restaurant. We expect the refurbishment of Annette’s Diner in Disney Village to last 14 months, putting a reopeneing date to around March 2027 at least. Disneyland Paris is expected to release more details as the transformation of Disney Village continues.

My Thoughts
As sad as it’ll be to say goodbye for a while, I think this renovation is exactly what Annette’s needs. It’s such a cornerstone of Disney Village, and knowing it’ll come back brighter and better (without losing that nostalgic glow) makes the wait worthwhile.
So if you’re visiting between now and early January, go have that last milkshake while you can!

Hey I just wanted to let you know I think there’s a typo as it says it closes 5 January or 14 months and will open about march 26 not 27. I just thought of letting you know as it’s on the email last Friday as well 🙂
Great catch! Thanks so much, that’s corrected now x
