Honest Disney Adventure World Trip Report 2026: The Good, The Bad, and The Hilarious
This week we handed the mic to Jodie Sawyer, one of our wonderful DLP First-Timers Facebook Group moderators and a seasoned DLP visitor, who’s just got back from a trip and had a LOT to say. Grab a coffee for this Disney Adventure World Trip Report 2026 — this one’s worth it. ☕
Arendelle, Adventure Way and Absolutely Aching Feet
Now that I’m back home and absolutely depressed 😭😭, I’m going to relive my trip in the best way I know how — a multi-part essay. You’re welcome.

Getting There: Gatwick, CDG, and the Train
Two adults flying from Gatwick to CDG. Quick heads up: Gatwick has a 2 litre liquid limit on the way there, but CDG doesn’t on the way back, so keep that in mind. The flight felt like it lasted about ten seconds and then we were back on the ground.
Passport control was a breeze — walked straight through in four minutes. The under-12s line was a little longer, but not massively so. Lesson learned: leave the kids at home. 👍 There’s a toilet in that area too, so if you do end up waiting, at least you won’t be crossing your legs. 👌
No fingerprinting or face scanning on the way in. Grabbed the bag — heads up: prams come off belt 1, so head straight there if you’ve got one — then took the ten-minute stroll to the train station. The lifts were playing up so we got briefly separated, but it wasn’t too long till the next train. Ten minutes to Disney, five to Val d’Europe.
We stayed at Séjours & Affaires Serris Val d’Europe Rive Gauche — five minutes from Val d’Europe station, so getting in and out was easy and quick. The station itself is tiny with just two platforms, very easy to navigate. Fair warning: people will block the doors. Apparently yelling ‘let us off then! 🗣️’ has a reasonable success rate. 🤷

Day 1: Disney Adventure World
Left for the park at half nine. Security had queues but they were all moving quickly, so the wait wasn’t long.
Adventure Way: First Impressions
Adventure Way is genuinely beautiful. The transition from Toy Story Land is fun and bang on theme — tree-lined walkways, fairy lights, and music playing as you walk through. (It’s turned up a touch louder than usual to cover the construction noise, but you’re not supposed to notice that.) We took the left side round the lake and headed up to Arendelle.
The walk up is shorter than you might expect — it didn’t feel like a trek at all. Along the route there were jugglers, a mime, and live musicians, which made the whole thing feel like an event in itself.
Arendelle: Smaller Than You Think, But Stunning
We walked straight in with no wait. The area is smaller than some people expect, but it’s done beautifully. Frozen music plays throughout, the buildings look lifted straight from the films, and the staff uniforms are perfectly themed. There are loads of photo spots and gorgeous views across the lake. At night, it’s absolutely stunning — fairy lights everywhere and the whole thing feels magical.
Frozen Ever After: Better Than Expected
The Frozen ride genuinely exceeded my expectations — and I say that as someone whose least favourite Disney film is Frozen (don’t @ me, I’m aware of the irony given my merch collection 😅). I assumed it would be a gentle float to Let It Go, but it’s so much more than that. The animatronics have had a serious upgrade, the little scenes are adorable, going backwards is a whole experience, and the drop at the end absolutely smashes Pirates of the Caribbean. We got a little wet. Completely worth it.
Tangled: Beautiful, But Worth Knowing This
The Tangled area and ride is stunning — the lanterns are gorgeous, the whole zone is themed in purples and flowers, and lit up at night it’s just chef’s kiss. Worth knowing though: it’s essentially the teacups rebranded. So if you’re short on time or managing long queues, pick one or the other rather than doing both.

The Rest of Disney Adventure World
Magic Carpets — quick but fun, with a great view from the top. Just watch out for daredevils in the back seat trying to tip you out. ☝️
👀 Spotted: Jessie and Woody!
Ratatouille was better than I remembered. The carts move at a good pace, the scenes are fully immersive, and we got splashed — a theme that was emerging throughout the day. Worth flagging: if you’re sensitive to VR-type experiences, just be aware it can be a lot.
Mickey and the Magician always delivers. The wandering giraffes during Circle of Life hit harder than expected 😔 Still can’t work out the box trick. Elsa sang beautifully but the accent kept pulling you out of the performance — they still haven’t quite cracked her. 😬
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force — get your Spidey fingers warmed up. 🤘 Our cart got the top score, which I’m personally taking full credit for (you’re welcome). Arms still recovering.

👀 Spotted: Thor and Loki. Thor is looking suspiciously slimmed down, both speaking exclusively French, and it was too hot for that level of mystery. Left them to it.
Pixar Together was a must-do and didn’t disappoint. I always forget how much I love that song until it starts, and the way they switch between the screen backdrop and real life is just as impressive as the first time.
Slinky Dog Dash felt a touch shorter than previous visits but still a fun ride.
Cars Road Trip arrived at exactly the right moment for a sit-down. Got splashed. Again.
👀 Spotted: Goofy outside the shop by the entrance.

Cascade of Lights: Don’t Miss This
Cascade of Lights was phenomenal. I’ll say it: I prefer it to Tales of Magic — though I should note I’ve only seen Tales of Magic with the drones, so I need to revisit to see them now they’ve been removed before that’s a final verdict.
We booked reserved viewing and had a brilliant spot — loads of space, and the drones feel close enough to be genuinely immersive. Definitely worth booking.
Top tip: don’t arrive ages early to hold your spot. It’s not a guaranteed system, and the longer you’ve waited, the more infuriating it is when someone wanders up at the last second and lifts a kid onto their shoulders right in your eyeline. A man at the front railing — couldn’t have gotten closer without climbing into the projections himself — did exactly that the moment the show started. 😬
The last train was earlier than we’d clocked, so we bolted straight out, hopped on, and were back faster than the partner hotel guests. 👊
Nineteen thousand steps done. We were ready for bed. 😴

What Disney Adventure World Gets Right ✨
- It’s a different world. The only place you go and completely forget about everything else — and that alone makes it worth the trip.
- Loads of seating. Benches and rest areas are dotted everywhere, which is a genuine blessing on a long day.
- Adventure Way is shorter than you think. The walk up to Arendelle wasn’t the trek I was expecting, and the entertainment along the route makes it an experience in itself.
- At night, it’s magical. The whole park is covered in fairy lights and the atmosphere is something else entirely. 🤩
- Weather was beautiful (until the storm, which we don’t talk about). Not so hot it ruined anything, just lovely.
- Food options everywhere. You’re never far from a snack.
What Could Be Better 🙈
- Shade is still scarce. When it’s warm and you’ve been on your feet for hours, you really feel it. Hats, fans, sunglasses, and sunscreen are non-negotiable in summer.
- The Up/Lion King construction is walled off and you can almost hear the equipment through the music they’ve cranked up to cover it. Not a dealbreaker — and it’s going to be incredible when it’s done — but it’s hard not to notice.
- The toilets were consistently disappointing throughout the day — missing toilet roll, messy floors, broken hand dryers, missing seats. I’ve never seen them so bad across the board. Hoping it’s a temporary blip.

Would I go back?
I was depressed before I even got on the train home, so yes. Absolutely yes. Drop your experience in the comments — the group wants to know. 😭🏰
