1. What Clothes to Pack in Spring (March, April and May)
In the springtime, Disneyland Paris is full to the brim with beautiful flowers, lush trees and little birds singing their love songs.
But, no matter how gorgeous and sunny the parks look, be on guard for spring rain!
That’s why wearing layers is my number one tip for first-timers going to Disneyland Paris in spring.
Sweaters, Jackets and Rain Jackets
- Throughout March and the first part of April, when rain is quite likely, temperatures can still feel cool. Take a warm, waterproof raincoat or rain jacket.
- From late April to May, when there is less rain, pack a light water-resistant jacket or coat with a hood. I like to buy mine from Sainsbury’s or Decathlon. ✏️ PRO TIP Take an extra plastic bag with you to roll up a wet jacket, and store it in your backpack when the rain clears.
- If you don’t have a jacket, a thick cardigan will also keep you warm. Just make sure to pack a disposable poncho for those surprise showers.

Tops and Bottoms
- Jeans, t-shirts and hoodies will keep your options open with changeable weather. Or, try pairing your tops with shorts/skirts and tights.
- Another option for spring is leggings with a long top.
- If it’s really cold, I love to wear fleece-lined tights with a long dress or maxi skirt.
- As spring weather is unpredictable, you will find that zippered sweatshirts and light, buttoned cardigans give you more flexibility for layering.

2. These are My 7 Best Packing Hacks
I love packing for my Disneyland Paris holiday, and I have 7 pro tips to make it easier and save space.
1. Roll clothes. To save space in your luggage, roll your clothes tightly. You can also roll your underwear up, tucking them inside your bras.
2. Pack strategically. Try packing your socks in your shoes. Then, put your shoes in your case first because they take the most amount of room. Placing them with the shoe’s sole facing the inside edge of your case will keep everything else cleaner. (It will also stop things getting crushed when you stand your case up!)
3. Limit your shoes. I try to limit myself to one spare pair of shoes per person in our suitcases. This comes in handy if the shoes we’re wearing get soaked in a storm (or a toddler enjoys puddles a little too much…). Or, if our feet hurt, it really helps to do alternate days with different pairs of shoes.
4. Wear your bulkiest clothing. If you are short on space and/or weight limit (ie for flights!), wearing your coat and heaviest shoes will help a lot.
5. Take a little extra for emergencies. I like to pack a fresh outfit for each day of our trip, with an extra T-shirt and at least two spare pairs of underwear and socks. Once, I got stranded in Disney for an extra 3 days because of strike action on the Eurostar, and I was grateful to have that extra bit of clothing. But don’t go overboard. People dress casually at Disneyland Paris, you don’t need separate daytime and evening outfits, even for dinner out.
6. Bundle your outfits together. This is especially helpful if you are travelling with kids. Keep a top, bottom, underwear and socks as one complete bundle and getting ready for rope drop will be that much faster in the morning!
7. Neatly organise your clothes. Finally, roll up your outfit bundles and put them into a packing cube to keep all your clothes tidy. I also use big Ziploc bags for my kids’ outfits and for my delicate Mouse Ears.

3. Disney Park Bag Essentials
Packing for a Disney holiday has specific requirements that other holidays do not. Here are my park essentials to put in your day bag when visiting Disneyland Paris in Spring.
🎒 25 Things to Pack in Your Backpack for Springtime
A great park bag will have lots of pockets and room to store all your day trip essentials. ✏️ PRO TIP Check out my 5 Favourite Backpacks for Disneyland Paris.
I like to organise my backpack items into 4 categories: essentials, health and hygiene, practical items and fun Disney extras.
10 Essentials for a Comfortable Day
- Gloves and a hat if it’s particularly chilly. I like to have these on hand for my family to watch the fireworks at night.
- A lightweight umbrella
- Sun cream for your face
- Lip balm – it gets so dry in the parks, trust me, you need this!
- Hand cream
- Sunglasses for watching the afternoon parade and a sunglasses case
- Poncho for surprise showers (these are reuseable, these are disposable)
- Shoe covers (as mentioned above)
- Spare socks during rainy weather (there is nothing worse than wet feet)
- Refillable water bottle
6 Things for Health and Hygiene
- Painkillers and medication (especially paracetamol as it is not available in the parks or in close vicinity)
- Anti-bac hand gel or spray
- Hand wipes for sticky fingers (these Panda wipes are my favourite, they’re great for wiping messy fast-food tables, too!)
- Travel tissues
- Mini First Aid Kit: a few plasters for scrapes or blisters, mini Savlon gel or antiseptic wipes
- Feminine hygiene products
4 Practical Items
- A sizeable power bank for your phone and children’s devices (this is the portable charger I use, it charges up fast and can do two devices at once). Don’t forget the charger cable.
- Your phone. Download the Disneyland Paris app before your trip. More useful apps are MagiPark for ride wait times and HeadsUp for games to play in the queue
- A few extra sandwich bags for leftover food or snacks
- A plastic bag for wet jackets or souvenirs to bring home
5 Fun Disney Extras
- Autograph book and pens if you are meeting characters
- Mouse Ears headband
- Disney trading pins
- Glowsticks for kids
- Bubble wands (or you can buy them in the park)

🤓 Good to Know: 3 Tips for Bag Safety
Although I don’t enjoy thinking about safety while I’m at the Happiest Place on Earth, it would be foolish to come unprepared for an opportunist thief.
If you are planning to watch the nighttime fireworks, or if you are using any hotel shuttle (trust me, they are crowded!), be ready for a potential pickpocket. Here are my 3 best hacks for keeping your bag and phone safe:
1. Lock up your purse, backpack and luggage with a mini padlock, especially in heavily crowded areas or at times when you might be distracted. These zipper locks are great, too.
2. Consider using a money belt or hip pack for passports (it’s a legal requirement to carry passports with you in France)
3. My favourite safety hack: Use a phone rope to keep your mobile close to you. It’s handy for taking pictures of characters on the fly as well!

4. Drinks and Snacks to Take in the Parks
There are plenty of dining choices at Disneyland Paris, from the royal princess dining experience at Auberge de Cendrillon to quick service restaurants in Fantasyland and Adventureland.
You can also grab iconic snacks like Mickey ice cream bars, popcorn buckets, Minnie cake pops, Mickey beignets, chocolatey crepes (my favourite!) and much more.
But it doesn’t hurt to pack a drink and snack in your bag for long queues for rides and shows. A quick refreshment while waiting for the shows, parades and fireworks can make your Disneyland day more bearable (especially if you have kids!).
Some of My Family’s Favourite Snacks to Save Time and Money at Disneyland Paris
- Wrapped pastries (like pain au chocolat)
- Protein bars
- Nutrigrain strawberry or blueberry bars
- Plain, caramel or chocolate rice cakes
- Individual bags of popcorn or crisps
- Fruit Yo-Yo Bear
- Tiny packets of Haribo sweets or Freddo chocolates
- Graze boxes, flapjacks, corn nuts
- Dried mango or banana chips
- Maryland chocolate chip cookies in individual packets
- Rice Krispy bars
- Small juice boxes
- Mini cans of soda
- Mini squeezy squash (great for flavouring water for kids)

5. Last Bits for Your Disneyland Paris Spring Packing List
We have covered all the clothes, shoes, backpack essentials and snacks you should put on your Disneyland Paris spring packing.
Final 3 Packing Tips for Disney
1. If you’re on a budget, bring a hot flask to take tea or coffee from your hotel with you into the park. (I do this anyway because it’s hard to find decaf at the kiosks.)
2. Don’t forget to bring a few essentials for your Disneyland Paris hotel or Airbnb. My favourites: an extension lead with USB slots, a European power converter, swimming costumes and flip flops, and plastic bags for wet swimsuits and dirty laundry.
3. Keep your valuables organised. I prefer to use a document wallet for our passports, Eurostar tickets or boarding pass, our Disneyland Paris printed park tickets, and travel insurance documents. In a separate travel purse, I have Euros to buy snacks in the parks, my debit and credit cards, and our UK GHIC cards (European health cards that entitle you to the equivalent of emergency NHS medical care).
Most of all, have an awesome time! Make lots of memories! And enjoy the springtime weather with Mickey.
