I’m currently planning my upcoming winter trip to Disneyland Paris — and while I adore Elsa, I have to admit the cold does bother me. 😆 But after a many frosty adventures from previous trips (and more than one emergency hot chocolate), I’ve figured out how to make winter visits my new favourite kind of Disneyland Paris trip.

1. Pack Like a Pro: Winter Edition

Winter in France can be chilly, wet, and sometimes snowy, so packing smartly is the secret to staying comfy and warm. Here’s a few tips for your ultimate winter packing list:

Layers, Layers, Layers: Thermal tops, fleece-lined leggings, and a cozy jumper are a must. Add a waterproof jacket, and you’re not going to ever know what a soggy day at Disney feels like!
Accessories That Work: Bring gloves (the touchscreen-friendly kind), a scarf, and a hat. Pro tip: pick a hat that’s ride-proof. Personally, I go for the ones that I can put my Mouse Ears Headband over to get my ‘I’m here for the castle pics’—practical and photogenic.
Footwear: Comfortable, waterproof shoes. (And waterproof socks are a surprising game changer.) Your toes will thank you!

2. Festive Snacks That’ll Warm Your Soul

Caolries don’t count in winter! And no one does snacks quite like Disneyland Paris. Whether it’s a steaming cup of hot chocolate or a perfectly golden crepe, there’s plenty to keep you warm while exploring the parks.

Hot Chocolate Perfection: The crêpe stand near the castle serves up the richest hot chocolate—ideal for warming your hands and your heart.
Festive Mickey Gingerbread: A seasonal treat that’s so adorable you’ll not want to eat it.
Minnie and Mickey Cake Pops: My absolute obsession. Usually you can find them at Cool Post in Adventureland along with irresistible Mickey Waffles.
L’Hiver Gourmand Winter Food Market: Near Remy’s Crazy Adventure at Disney Adventure World, these pop-ups from 8th November to mid-March are brimming with sweet treats and wintery comfort food; perfect for a quick break. They’re only here in the winter, so don’t miss them!

✏️ Pro Tip: If you’re visiting with little ones, grab a few extra snacks for the queue lines. Nothing keeps spirits high like a well-timed cookie.

3. Entertainment to Love at Disneyland Paris in Winter

Winter at Disneyland Paris isn’t just about the sights and snacks; the entertainment lineup is just as exciting.

December Highlights: Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade is back, bringing glittering floats and festive tunes you’ll hum all the way home. Here’s my take on paying for the Reserved Access.
The spectacular fireworks show happens every night at park closing time (check out my post on Tales of Magic), lighting up the skies with a bang and projections now extending to Main Street.
And in 2026, we’ll see the return of A Million Splashes of Colour, the daytime parade coming to Disneyland Park from 8th of February.
Huge Perk for Shows in Winter: By mid-January and early February, the crowds thin out a bit, giving you more chances to enjoy the shows without battling the festive rush.

4. Picture-Perfect Winter Spots

Photos in winter? Yes, please! This is the season where it gets dark earlier, so the parks are dressed to impress, with fairy lights and frosty touches making every corner look like a postcard.

Here are my favourite spots for capturing the wintery magic:

The Castle Hub: So dreamy at night, especially with its glowing winter décor.
Discoveryland: Futuristic vibes meet winter charm when the area lights up after dark.
Walt Disney Studios: Don’t miss the glowing rooftop at Avengers Campus for a dramatic Doctor Strange photo moment — the lights look incredible against the night sky.
At the Castle: Choose from enjoying delicious champagne (get it from the cart outside Gibson Girl) or lush hot chocolate to make everyone back home wish they were at Sleeping Beauty Castle in snowy January with you!
Winter Landscaping: Don’t forget about all the lush flowers and topiaries decorating the park in winter – the entrance alone (pictured above) is worth a space on your camera roll.

5. Yikes! What to Watch Out For in Winter at Disneyland Paris

As lovely as winter is at Disneyland Paris, I admit, it does come with a few challenges. Here’s how I navigate them like a pro:

Weather Woes: Be prepared that rain, wind and snow might cancel outdoor parades and the nighttime drones, though the fireworks (almost always) go ahead.
✏️ Pro Tip: Check the Disneyland Paris app on the day of your visit for schedules.
Transportation Delays: Icy weather can sometimes cause hiccups with Eurostar, flights or local trains, so keep an eye on updates.
Dining Costs: Table-service restaurants can skyrocket in price on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. If bookings are full, don’t panic—my Disneyland Paris Sold-Out Tables Guide has you covered.

6. Why January and February Are Hidden Gems (AKA: My Favourite DLP Winter Tips!)

Post-holiday blues? Beat them like I do, by going to Disneyland Paris! January and February have a more relaxed pace, and there’s nothing like enjoying the parks without elbowing your way through crowds.

Even better, this is the time for bargain hunters!

Lower Crowds: With shorter wait times and more space to explore, you’ll feel like you have the parks to yourself—almost.

7. Walt Disney Studios Highlights in Winter

Walt Disney Studios Park might not get as much winter attention as it prepares for World of Frozen in Spring, but I really think it’s worth a visit for these seasonal highlights:

Doctor Strange: Mystery of the Mystics runs all winter from 25 October 2025, transforming Avengers Campus into a magical rooftop showdown between Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Agatha Harkness.

L’Hiver Gourmand Winter Food Market: I mentioned these before, but truly these gourmet pop-ups are serving up the tastiest bites until March. My fave? The crepes, of course! (But you knew that already, given the name of this blog!). Warm, hearty dishes with a French flair. Bon appetit.
All the stage shows: When the weather is just too wet or too cold, my secret weapon is Mickey and the Magician or Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure. Both are indoors at Walt Disney Studios and will warm you from the inside out.

I really don’t think you should overlook a trip to Disneyland Paris in Winter. Both parks are full of delights, from festive snacks to twinkling lights and plenty of cosy moments.
