October at Disneyland Paris 2025: Your Friendly First-Timer Guide (with Halloween Tips!)

Yesss—October! My favourite blend of cosy jumpers, cheeky villains, and Main Street smelling like a popcorn daydream. If September is a gentle ‘hello autumn’, October at Disneyland Paris is the bit where the ghosts clock in and the leafy foliage goes full glam. Pop your scarf on (and maybe a pair of stripy tights if you’re feeling brave), I’ve got you.

A teeny-tiny caveat (because Disney loves a secret)

Here’s the thing: Disney are keeping this year’s Halloween entertainment very hush-hush. Until they confirm the line-up, assume it’ll look similar to last year—but all entertainment details are TBC for now. I’ll be updating this guide (and sending a heads-up in my newsletter) the second they announce anything.

When is Halloween season?

🗓 1 October – 2 November 2025. The décor comes out, the villains get sassy, and the snacks… well, the snacks get ideas above their station (and I fully support that).

Park hours & Extra Magic Time

Hours shift throughout the month, so download my October calendar (below) and do a quick check in the DLP app the night before.

If you’re in a Disney hotel (or have a Gold AP), you’ll see Extra Magic Time for an hour each morning—gold dust for photos, Fantasyland classics, and a calmer start to your October at Disneyland day.

Attraction closures (exactly what we know)

Here’s what’s officially on the October 2025 closure calendar (and a couple of those longer breaks you’ll want to plan around):

• Meet Mickey (attraction in Fantasyland): closed to early 2026. Currently meeting in his classic tuxedo at Studio D in Walt Disney Studios Park (note: traditional queue not virtual queue).
• Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast: closed 1–31 Oct and staying closed through the end of 2025.
• Mad Hatter’s Teacups: closed 1–3 Oct.
• Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: closed 1–3 Oct.
• La Tanière du Dragon (the dragon under the castle): closed 6–10 Oct.
• Flying Carpets Over Agrabah (WDSP): closed 7–10 Oct.
• Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy (WDSP): closed 13–31 Oct and not expected back until spring 2026.

Other notes:

• Newport Bay Club pool: closed 29 Sept – 11 Oct.
• Thunder Mesa reopens 4 Oct.
• Pirate Galleon remains closed.

Shows ‘on a break’:

• The Lion King: closed all of October.
• Mickey and the Magician: closed all of October.
• Alice & the Queen of Hearts: seasonal only, not back until next summer (if at all).

Tickets & reservations (don’t leave it late)

Halloween fun is included in your regular admission—no upcharge parties here. But don’t leave tickets to the last minute; weekends and Halloween week (30–31 Oct) sell out faster than Oogie Boogie’s dice game.

Crowd expectations (and how to survive them without turning into a witch)

• Busiest: weekends and Halloween itself (30–31 Oct).
• Easier: mid-week, especially early in the month.

✨ My three favourite calm-brain tricks:

1. Arrive 30 minutes before official opening.
2. Tackle headliners first, save snacks and slow strolls for the afternoon. Then circle back to the busy queues at the end of the day.
3. Make friends with the Disneyland Paris app—it’s like a park map crossed with a crystal ball.

Tip: How to skip the queues

If the long lines start sounding like a horror story, you can treat yourself to Premier Access One to skip a ride’s line (€5–18). I save it for rides where my patience levels are guaranteed to wither (looking at you, Big Thunder Mountain on a Saturday).

Halloween exclusive: Lucky Nugget becomes… the Unlucky Nugget 👀

Frontierland’s rowdy saloon is getting a spooky makeover tied to Phantom Manor lore, and I am delighted. Expect cobweb-chic décor and seasonal menu twists from 1 Oct – 2 Nov. No reservations, just join the queue and step into the Ravenswood backstory.

Characters, décor & snacks (the trifecta of October joy)

🎭 Characters: Fab friends like Stitch, Tigger, Goofy, Chip and Dale and Mickey and Minnie in seasonal costumes + villains on the loose in Fantasyland and Adventureland. Keep your autograph books ready (and your cuteness shields higher).

🎃 Décor: Main Street’s gazebo is pumpkin heaven. Frontierland bursts with Coco-inspired displays. The colours are so bright you’ll need a lot of space on your phone for pictures.

🍪 Snacks: Seasonal bakes with cute Halloween theming are in Boardwalk Candy Palace, Cool Post and Victoria’s; cocktails/mocktails also are in Victoria’s and hotel bars; and if you’re really unlucky in queues, the Starbucks at the train station has PSLs and Halloween doughnuts (you can carry them inside, I’ve tested this for you).

What to wear (cosy, practical, still cute)

October in Paris is basically a weather roulette wheel. Some days you’ll step out to glorious blue skies and crisp sunshine that makes the pumpkins on Main Street glow like they’re in a film set. Other days… well, I’ve had two solid days of rain where we were drenched down to our socks (thank you, poncho, for saving my hair at least).

So, what to pack?

• Layers: tee + jumper/hoodie + jacket with a hood. Perfect for sunny afternoons that turn into chilly nights.
• Leggings/tights under dresses keep things warm if it’s going to be more chilly (fleece-lined if you’re me).
• Comfy trainers you can walk in all day (canvas + rain = nope).
• Poncho or lightweight waterproof in your bag (October rain can be a character in itself).
• Hats, scarves, gloves: only worth it for rope-drop mornings and evening fireworks in the later part of the month.

Kids do best with joggers, light thermals, and costumes layered over warm bits. And if you get that rare sunny autumn day, you’ll be grateful for the option to peel layers off.

What to Pack for October at Disneyland Paris

October at Disneyland Paris means one thing: be ready for anything. Sunshine, showers, a sudden chill in the evening—it’s all possible in one trip. My best advice? Pack like you’re auditioning for Mary Poppins’ bag and you’ll be fine.

🎒 Backpack essentials (this is the Korean school girl-style backpack I’m carrying in the photos—cheap, practical and cute):

• Poncho or lightweight rain jacket – because October rain doesn’t mess about.
• Scarf and gloves – I know, it feels early, but you’ll thank yourself at fireworks time.
• Spare socks – nothing ruins your mood faster than squelchy shoes.
• Portable charger – parades, characters, and photos will drain your battery before you can say ‘pumpkin spice’.
• Snacks – queues are infinitely easier with something to nibble.

If you’re packing for kids, think joggers, thermals, and easy layers—costumes can always go over the top. Add a clear disposable poncho and you can still see that adorable princess dress (because no parents wants tears from a tiny person in a tiara).

Costume rules (a classic gotcha)

• Adults: costumes only allowed on 31 Oct. No masks/props that could cause confusion.
• Under-12s: costumes are fine all season.
• Disney bounds, Halloween tees, Mouse Ears and stripy tights? Absolutely yes, all month.

Little tips that make a big difference

• Screenshot tickets/reservations in case Wi-Fi does a ghostly vanishing act.
• Portable charger = essential (you’ll thank me by parade time). My fave is linked above.
• A couple of cereal bars are handy for queue wobbles when you’ve only had a pain au chocolate for breakfast.
• If a meet queue is closed, politely ask the nearby cast member for the next set time—saved me heaps of faff last year.
• Newport Bay swimmers: remember that pool closure (29 Sept–11 Oct) if an afternoon splash is part of your plan.

What I Really Think About October at Disneyland Paris

October at Disneyland Paris has a personality all its own—pumpkins on Main Street, villains on the prowl, and just enough chill in the air to make that hot chocolate taste extra wonderful. Sure, the weather might keep you guessing, but honestly? That’s part of the fun. Whether you’re bundled up against the rain or basking under crisp autumn sunshine, the atmosphere is unbeatable.

So, if you’re visiting this October, lean into it: pack the layers, plan for a little character mischief, and don’t forget to leave space in your bag for a new Disney villain pin (or three).
