I remember wandering through the Norway pavilion at EPCOT, past Anna and Elsa’s Summerhus, and thinking, ‘It’s such a shame Olaf isn’t here… this would be the perfect spot for him.’

And now?
We’re getting him — and not just any Olaf. We’re getting a robotic Olaf for Disneyland Paris, and he is something truly extraordinary.

A full-sized, fully expressive, next-generation robotic Olaf, created by Disney Imagineers to feel as though he’s stepped straight out of the film is stepping on to the snowy streets of Arendelle.

This isn’t a puppet.
This isn’t a person-sized Olaf.
This isn’t an animatronic politely tucked behind a railing.
This is Olaf — walking, talking, shimmering, reacting — alive in that wonderfully curious way he’s always been in the films.

And yes… he’s utterly adorable. Prepare yourself.

From the moment Disneyland Paris surprise revealed the new Olaf, it was clear that this is a major leap forward for Disney Parks.

Every tiny detail is there:

Disney has been quietly building toward a moment like this.

Recently we’ve seen:

• The DBX droids wandering around Discoveryland for Star Wars Season and Lounge Lightspeed last summer
• The new Zootropolis 2 star Gary De’Snake in Shanghai
• The self-balancing H.E.R.B.I.E. unit for the Fantastic Four promotion at Disneyland California Resort

Talk about a show-stopper: you just might catch a glimpse of the Robotic Olaf for Disneyland Paris wandering through the snowy streets of Arendelle. You’ll probably know he’s nearby because of the shrieking and the sudden crowd gathering to witness a tiny snowman actually shuffling past in real life.

But before we all start planning coordinated Olaf selfies… a tiny reality check.
He looks very delicate (he is literally made of shimmering faux snow and robotics), so I imagine he’ll have:

• a healthy bubble of space around him,
• Arendelle villagers guiding his path,
• and interactions that feel more like ‘Oh look! Olaf!’ rather than a traditional meet-and-greet.

Think of those delightful moments in Fantasyland when you suddenly spot Lady Tremaine sweeping past with the stepsisters causing chaos at Halloween. It’s spontaneous, charming, and absolutely a sighting — but not a stop-and-pose situation.

And the big question:
Will the classic life-size Olaf meet continue at Animation Celebration in Walt Disney Studios Park?
At the moment… we don’t know. Disney may keep both experiences, or the new land could change things entirely. I’ll update this page the second we hear more.

Another guaranteed way to see him: when the brand-new land opens at Disney Adventure World, Olaf will be part of the Arendelle Bay Show — not just a one-off reveal.

If you’ve read my A Celebration in Arendelle preview already, you’ll know there’s been plenty to get excited about (okay, me… it was me getting excited). The fact that this life-like Olaf is part of the show just makes it even better.

This makes sense — Hong Kong’s Frozen land is already open and Imagineering loves testing characters in multiple locations.

But the headline for us?
He’s coming to Disneyland Paris.

The minute I see him with my own two eyes, I’ll report back faster than you can say ‘Samantha?!’
